Description

You will build dashboards and reports in Qlik Sense for the BLADE environment, which runs on the DoW ADVANA Data Fabric, and you will work with business analysts, product owners and stakeholders.

The role centres on the A4R Basing and Logistics Analytics Data Environment and on bringing Maven Smart Systems data, schemas and operational analytics into it.

The work serves both MAJCOM staff at the operational level and Wing-level and below users at the tactical level, so you will gather requirements for both groups.

The company is a global technology and professional services firm serving US government, defense and intelligence customers, with about 26,000 staff in more than 50 countries and work in AI, cloud, cyber and software development.

This is a Data Science and Data Engineering job family role, filled as a regular requisition.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and release custom dashboards, visualizations and reporting products in Qlik Sense that meet complex organizational needs.
  • Create reporting solutions for both operational and tactical audiences.
  • Write and revise complex SQL queries that combine data from multiple sources.
  • Support ongoing data work tied to Maven Smart Systems integration within the core COP and CIP environments.
  • Integrate Maven Smart Systems data schemas and keep them aligned with the MSS COP, AIDP and enterprise architectures.
  • Help modernize MSS workflows, including unified aircraft object schemas built in the Maven environment.
  • Improve MSS posture dashboards by combining automated BLADE data feeds with manual inputs specific to each mission.
  • Upgrade interfaces and usability across MSS portals so they are easier to access, read and use in operations.
  • Apply BLADE standards, policies and processes across NIPR, SIPR and ADVANA to keep systems interoperable.
  • Support MSS, NATO C2, COP/CIP and multi-domain data integrations as priorities change.
  • Take part in Kanban and SCRUM sprints, write sprint summaries, and attend weekly standups and retrospectives.
  • Turn requirements into functional specifications, prototypes and analytic products.
  • Work with the BLADE team on continuous improvement, giving and receiving mentoring in SQL, Qlik development and MSS data practices.
  • Send accurate BLADE requirements to the Basing and Logistics Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Steering Team (BLAAST).

Requirements

  • Experience in Business Intelligence, data visualization and Qlik Sense.
  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of increasingly complex, progressive work in systems analysis, development and implementation for business data sources, using current technologies and emerging ones where the task calls for them.
  • Hands-on MSS support, including posture dashboards, schema alignment, interface improvements and COP/CIP integration.
  • Expert-level SQL, including writing and changing complex queries.
  • Skill in gathering, analyzing and translating requirements into functional specifications, prototypes and working capabilities.
  • Experience with Databricks and iQuery data access and management tools.
  • Preferred: Qlik Sense certifications such as Business Analyst or Data Architect.
  • Preferred: experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Lumira, Power BI or Business Objects.
  • Highly desired, though not strictly required under DoW 8570.01-M: Palantir certifications such as Data Engineer, Application Developer, AI Engineer or Foundry, and Qlik Sense certifications such as Business Analyst or Data Architect.
  • Education: a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive field, or an applicable certificate from an accredited training institution. The degree should give substantial knowledge useful in managing large, complex AIS projects closely related to the work being automated.
  • Alternative to the degree: a Master’s in a qualifying subject plus 3 years of relevant experience, or no degree plus 11 years of experience, 9 of them directly related.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Secret clearance must be held now, and you must be able to obtain it.
  • Germany TESA eligibility or certification is required.
