Description

The team produces all-source intelligence on cyber actors abroad, both military and civilian, along with their infrastructure and the wider ecosystems they operate in.

The output meets foundational military intelligence needs for the joint force and fits the mission portfolios.

The work covers the full intelligence cycle, from planning and collection through processing, exploitation, production and dissemination, and includes integrated mission management.

The customer uses this support to carry out both defensive and offensive operations in cyberspace.

This is a Data Scientist (AI/ML Engineer) role in the Data Science and Data Engineering job family.

You will design, build and harden production machine learning systems for classified intelligence missions, including work with containers, clusters and mission sensors.

You will also apply advanced statistics, semantic automation and knowledge-graph reasoning to strengthen all-source analysis and analytic tradecraft.

The company is a global technology and professional services firm with about 26,000 staff serving federal, defense and intelligence customers, working in AI, cloud, cyber and software development across more than 50 countries.

Responsibilities

  • Build and secure production ML systems for classified environments, including hardened architectures, microservices, containerized and clustered deployments, mission system integration, and compliance with RMF and OPSEC rules.
  • Write secure code, handle models safely, tune performance, and automate secure CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab, working with SSO and security staff to prevent accidental disclosure.
  • Research, design and assess new AI techniques and analytic methods for all-source work, including large multi-INT datasets, and brief senior leaders on where they fit the mission.
  • Apply LLMs, NLP and ML to build ontologies and semantic workflows, automate entity extraction, recognition and summarization, and augment analytic processes.
  • Build semantic retrieval and reasoning over knowledge graphs with GraphQL, SPARQL, SHACL, SQL and other query tools, keeping meaning accurate and systems interoperable.
  • Test AI and analytics methods for risks, biases and limits, and deliver steady improvements to tools, workflows and methods.
  • Keep up with research from government, industry and academia, and prototype and test technologies that could improve all-source analysis.
  • Script in R and Python, use SQL, merge disparate datasets, run statistical analysis, and apply data-mining algorithms.
  • Keep current with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Docker, Kubernetes, GPU and HPC workflows, secure software practices and model optimization.

Requirements

  • Analytical thinking, working with datasets, and machine learning methods.
  • 17+ years of related experience.
  • Master's degree with 12 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with 17 years of experience.
  • Prior machine learning and automated predictive analytics experience, plus a professional or graduate-level data science certificate.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Preferred: Certified Kubernetes Administrator, cloud GovCloud experience (AWS or Azure Gov), and RMF or security training, maintained or in progress.

Conditions

Onsite in College Park, Maryland.

40 scheduled hours per week.

Travel is less than 10% of the time.

Must currently hold a Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph and be able to obtain one. No public trust or other clearance is required. No certifications are required.

Identity verification uses biometrics and AI. You must be on camera for virtual interviews, and the company may take your photo to verify identity. Continuing means you consent to biometric collection for verification and security.

Equal opportunity employer that welcomes individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Benefits

  • Likely salary range of $140,821 to $190,523. This is not a guarantee; pay depends on experience, geographic location and possibly contract requirements, and may fall outside this range.
  • Medical plans, some with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental and vision plans.
  • 401(k) with pre and post-tax contributions up to IRS limits and a company match.
  • Full flex work weeks where possible and paid time off, including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave.
  • Short and long-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness, and business travel and accident insurance, provided or available.
  • An AI-powered career tool that suggests career steps and learning, and an internal mobility team to help you reach your goals.
  • An award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplace.
