Data Scientist - Contract - PIU based Compensation only

Description

The company runs a modern SaaS platform and is hiring a data scientist on a contract basis.

The work centres on NLP, from text understanding and classification to information extraction, and you would work with both software and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Gather data by reviewing business results or by designing and running new studies.
• Reshape datasets into formats that suit analysis.
• Design experimental setups for collecting data.
• Write tools that automate data collection.
• Dig through large datasets to pull out information you can use.
• Prepare reports and presentations for business purposes.
• Find links between similar data that lead to actions, run statistical analysis and refine models.
• Partner with software and business teams to build, integrate and ship algorithms on the SaaS platform.
• Help push NLP and its applications forward, producing new products and customer experiences.
• Take end-to-end products from initial data exploration through feature generation, model building and deployment.
• Own your models from design and implementation through deployment, and track their business impact.
• Coach teammates and help grow the data science group.
• Shape design, architecture, tooling and processes across the organization.

Requirements

• A master's or higher degree in data science, computer science, statistics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience across data exploration, cleaning, analysis, visualization and mining.
• Mandatory: 6 months to 1 year of LLM experience from projects.
• At least 5 years of Python experience building basic prediction models.
• Solid grasp of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Working knowledge of most of these areas: NLP, information retrieval, machine comprehension, question answering and conversational AI, reinforcement learning, knowledge graphs, causal inference and experiment design.
• Strong programming in Python and R for statistics and data science.
• Expert SQL for extracting, transforming and analyzing data.
• Hands-on work with big data, search and chatbot tools such as Elasticsearch and Solr.
• Knowledge of deep learning tools such as TensorFlow, Keras, MXNET or H2O is preferred.
• Experience deploying NLP solutions in a commercial setting.
• Deep experience with Microsoft Azure, including a machine learning certification.
• Hands-on work with machine learning pipelines in Azure ML.
• Experience working in Agile teams using tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
• Public AI projects you have built, shared on GitHub.
