Description

The team sits within the company's Data and Statistical Sciences group and combines people, process and technology to turn clinical trial data into business value.

The role helps the group deliver the program- and study-level goals assigned to it.

Responsibilities

  • Align DSS study teams with program and study strategies, and help govern assigned programs and studies inside and outside DSS, whatever their size or complexity.

  • Use operational analytics and project management tools to improve execution, manage internal and external resources, track study progress and write status reports.
  • Spot issues early that could affect timelines or quality for your own work and for studies the team manages, then develop options and solutions.
  • Make sure federal, local, GCP, ICH, the company SOP and functional quality requirements are followed, track changes in local rules and policy, and act as DS study owner for regulatory inspections and internal audits.
  • Help oversee vendors and give feedback on trial operations, issues and performance trends.
  • Coach and mentor team members and shape their development.
  • Lead DSS and cross-functional innovation and process improvement initiatives.
  • If assigned, identify training needs, standardize DS role training, run it, and hold lessons-learned sessions across functions.
  • May involve directly or indirectly supervising staff and contract resources.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desired.
  • You need 8+ years in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or 10+ years in project management, and/or equivalent applicable work experience.
  • Deep knowledge of clinical trial processes, the functional stakeholders involved and clinical technology.
  • You must have led a clinical trial from start to finish.
  • A proven record as a cross-functional leader.
  • A proven ability to influence people without direct authority.
  • A proven ability to coach or mentor within a matrix environment.
  • Clear, effective communication.
  • Strong analytical skills.
