Description

The team sits within a cross-industry peer group and brings people, process and technology together to turn clinical trial data into business value. This role is central to delivering the program- and study-level commitments that Data and Statistical Sciences (DSS) has been given.

The company discovers and delivers medicines in immunology, oncology and neuroscience, and also runs an aesthetics portfolio through Allergan Aesthetics.

Responsibilities

  • Align DSS study teams with program and study strategies, and help govern the programs and studies you oversee, inside and outside DSS.
  • Act as the single point of contact and accountable operational lead from DSS for your assigned programs, and coordinate the DSS study teams toward operational goals.
  • Connect with global functional and cross-functional teams at program and study levels.
  • Influence managers and cross-functional colleagues at every level to reach program objectives, and represent DS in cross-functional forums and in leadership meetings when assigned.
  • Use operational analytics and project management tools to run programs and studies efficiently, manage internal and external resources, track study progress and write status reports.
  • Spot issues that could affect timelines or quality, in your own work and in studies your team manages, and develop options and fixes.
  • Make sure work meets federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, the company SOPs and functional quality standards. Keep up with changing local regulations, guidelines and policies for clinical development. Coordinate and take part as the DS study owner in regulatory inspections and internal quality audits.
  • Help oversee vendors and give feedback on trial operations, issues and performance trends.
  • Coach and mentor team members, and give input on their development.
  • Lead innovation and process improvement efforts within DSS and across functions.
  • When assigned, identify training needs, standardize training for DS roles and deliver it. Run lessons-learned sessions across functions.
  • You may directly or indirectly supervise staff and contract resources.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field is required. A master's degree is preferred.
  • A PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desired.
  • At least 8 years of experience in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or at least 10 years of project management experience, and or equivalent work experience.
  • Deep knowledge of clinical trial processes, the functional stakeholders involved, and clinical technology.
  • You must have led a clinical trial from initiation to completion.
  • A record of leading across functions.
