Data Science Program Lead I - Neurology

Description

The team sits within the clinical data group, which uses people, process and technology to turn clinical trial data into business value.

This role keeps program- and study-level goals on track for the clinical data strategy and operations group.

Responsibilities

• Align the data science study teams with program and study strategies, leading the operations team on assigned studies and representing data science on the cross-functional study team.
• Act as the single operational contact and accountable lead from data science for assigned studies, coordinating the related data science teams and engaging global functional and cross-functional groups.
• Influence cross-functional colleagues to meet program and study objectives.
• Use operational analytics and project management tools to run programs and studies efficiently, manage internal and external resources, track progress and write status reports. Spot issues that could affect timelines or quality early and propose options and fixes.
• Ensure compliance with federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, the company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and functional quality standards. Keep up with changing local regulations, guidelines and policies on clinical development.
• Oversee vendors and give feedback on study operations, problems and performance trends.
• Coach and mentor Data Science Associates, which may include indirectly supervising contract staff.
• Take part in clinical data group and cross-functional innovation and process improvement work.
• Share lessons learned from study execution across functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field. A master's is preferred.
• PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desirable.
• You must have 3+ years of experience in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or 5+ years of project management experience, and/or other applicable work experience.
• Strong understanding of the clinical trial process and clinical technology. Experience managing a trial from start to finish is preferred.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Proven ability to influence others without direct authority.
• Proven communication skills.
• Proven analytical skills.

The base pay range below is the company's good-faith estimate for this role at posting, based on the job grade. Actual pay within the range depends on factors including location, and the final amount may be above or below the range. The range may change.

The role is eligible for the short-term incentive program.
