Description

The company makes drones and is the world leader in autonomous flight, a technology it sees as central to the future of drones and aerial mobility.

The Business Data Platform team is hiring a data product manager to help own the shared Foundry ontology and guide each team's idea from concept to a working use case.

The role reports to the head of Business Data Platform and works closely with the data security engineer so new use cases are built in the correct project with the correct access controls.

The company runs its business on Foundry, and sales, finance, manufacturing, and operations teams build their apps there. Some of that data also reaches customers through the company's products.

The ontology holds the shared business objects, actions, and links that apps and AI agents use to find and act on company data. New use cases should extend this model, not sit beside it.

Responsibilities

  • Co-own the Foundry ontology with the head of Business Data Platform, including stable objects such as accounts, orders, sites, parts, and people, plus the actions and links between them, so new apps plug in without rework.
  • Learn how the go-to-market, finance, manufacturing, and operations teams work, and model it so data from Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, and other systems connects in one place.
  • Work with leaders to identify what the business needs to see, then turn that into metrics, dashboards, and apps on the ontology. Decide when to work around imperfect data and when to push for a fix at the source.
  • Run intake for new use cases. Help each team define its objects, actions, and permissions, then decide whether to reuse, extend, or build, and who does the building, including Palantir forward deployed engineers.
  • Work with the data security engineer to put each use case in the right project and access boundary so teams can move fast on protected data.
  • Keep the ontology clean and well typed, with clear names, descriptions, and types so people and AI agents can find and use the right object. Take these standards to the cross-functional Data Council.
  • Connect systems through the ontology and its APIs so internal apps, integrations, and some customer-facing products read and write the same governed data.
  • Lead enablement: hold office hours, onboard new teams and builders, and keep documentation current so teams can ship use cases with little overhead.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years in product management, consulting, or a forward deployed role, ideally at a software company that ships products to customers.
  • Understand how a business runs end to end, including how a go-to-market org sells and forecasts, how finance closes and reports, and how manufacturing plans and builds. You do not need experience in all of them.
  • Design data models and ontologies with entities, relationships, and actions that hold up as new use cases arrive.
  • Write SQL, read a data pipeline, and reason about APIs and integrations between systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and Workday.
  • Draw out requirements from busy business users, challenge a requested solution without losing their trust, and scope an honest first version.
  • Pick up new systems quickly and document what you learn for the next person.
  • Treat access rules as part of the product, with a working knowledge of row-level security and data classification.
  • Build and ship apps yourself, at work or on the side, and use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf daily. Able to build a React app that pulls live data, in Foundry or elsewhere.
  • Strongly preferred: Palantir Foundry experience, especially ontology design with object types, link types, actions, and functions.
  • Strongly encouraged for all employees: FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment. Required for certain positions.

  • Eligibility for the company's group health insurance plans.
