The company is an early-stage, privately held business that uses AI to help people handle life's challenges and improve their wellbeing.
It is building a platform that helps people shape a life they value. The team combines psychology, product, design, engineering and machine learning to create digital experiences that are engaging, trustworthy and truly useful.
The company's backer is a bioplatform innovation company that has originated and fostered more than 100 scientific ventures since 2000, representing more than $90 billion in aggregate value, including Moderna.
This is a hands-on executive role. You will be as comfortable reviewing a hard conversation or a retention cohort as you are setting strategy and building a team.
Success means a focused roadmap, measurable gains in activation and retention, more useful conversations, and a strong team that turns research and user insight into reliable product improvements.
Responsibilities
Lead product for the company's AI chat product, which helps people understand themselves, handle relationships and act on what matters to them through ongoing conversation.
Set the product vision, target users, key use cases, differentiation and roadmap. Turn long-term ambition into clear priorities, deciding what to build, in what order, and what to stop.
Own the journey from onboarding and the first useful conversation through continued use and subscription. Raise the bar for conversation quality, memory, personalization and follow-up that helps users make progress over time.
Drive gains in activation, cohort retention, conversion and subscription value. Find what brings users back, why they pay and why they leave. Work with growth on positioning, pricing and acquisition economics, and with engineering on cost to serve.
Lead product discovery through user interviews, conversation review, behavioral data and support feedback. Turn findings into decisions and experiments, and personally review key flows, prototypes and AI behavior.
Hire, develop and lead product, design, engineering and AI research leaders as the organization grows. Set decision rights, match staffing and budgets to priorities, and hold teams accountable for quality and delivery.
Turn user needs into research questions and promising research into shipped capabilities. Balance near-term improvements with longer exploration, making tradeoffs across model quality, reliability, latency and cost explicit.
Set a shared approach to AI evaluation, experimentation and release decisions. Connect human feedback, research findings and production evidence to clear measures of quality and real user benefit.
Build privacy, user control, safety and reliability into the product experience. Design for sensitive moments, support user agency and keep clear limits on what the AI can do.
Run a fast operating cadence with clear owners and a short loop from learning to shipping. Communicate strategy, decisions, progress and evidence to company leadership, the board and the wider organization.
Requirements
A track record of building and scaling consumer products from early promise to lasting adoption, with measurable gains in retention, user value and business results.
Experience with consumer subscriptions, messaging or other products built on repeat use is especially relevant.
Strong product judgment and taste. You can spot important user problems, build simple and compelling experiences, and decide well with incomplete information. Attention to language and interaction design is essential.
You must be comfortable having engineering and AI research report to you, directly or through their leaders. You need the technical fluency to manage them, assess talent, coach technical leaders, resolve competing priorities and hold teams accountable. Prior responsibility for engineering or research organizations is especially valuable.
Practical experience shipping AI products and a solid grasp of probabilistic behavior, evaluation, memory, personalization and model limits. You can question technical assumptions, tell a promising demo from a dependable product, and judge when more research is warranted.
Analytical depth across funnels, cohort retention, experimentation, pricing and unit economics. You combine quantitative evidence with user research, separate causation from correlation, and change direction when the evidence calls for it.
Executive ownership with a willingness to do the work: write a brief, inspect the data, challenge a prototype, manage resources and unblock a launch. You move between long-term strategy and detailed execution.
Excellent written and spoken communication. You build productive relationships across design, engineering, research, growth, operations and company leadership, and explain complex tradeoffs clearly.
You are self-motivated and comfortable in an ambiguous, fast-moving setting with evolving goals. You think independently, make difficult prioritization calls and create focus without unnecessary process. Early-stage experience is especially valuable.
A strong interest in psychology, behavior change and helping people act with more agency. Sound judgment with products people trust with sensitive information, and a clear sense of the difference between meaningful user benefit and engagement that does not serve the user. Experience in wellbeing, coaching or other high-trust consumer products is a plus.
