Description

The company is Wind River, part of the company, and is hiring a Data Platform Architect to shape the design of its modern data platform. The platform serves enterprise analytics, business metrics, dashboards and visualization.

You will own the design of the full data path, from ingestion to visualization, using Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Tableau and current data engineering methods. You will work with executives and other teams to turn business needs into scalable data solutions, set engineering and analytics standards, and mentor data developers in a fast-moving, service-focused setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design the structures and workflows that carry data from ingestion to visualization across Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt and Tableau.
  • Set and apply data engineering standards that make the platform easier to maintain, more reliable, scalable and efficient.
  • Lead Snowflake warehouse architecture, data modeling and development for data sets that vary widely in structure.
  • Build and maintain data security and access controls, and set up sound source code management in GitHub.
  • Write SQL, HTML and JavaScript that improve the platform and support analytics and visualization work.
  • Work with executives and other teams to gather business requirements and convert them into data architecture and analytics solutions.
  • Guide and mentor junior data developers, and promote good practice in data engineering, analytics, CI/CD and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. A focus on Data Engineering is a plus.
  • 10 to 12 years of data engineering development and visualization work, including 6 to 8 years in data warehousing. Snowflake warehouse experience is preferred.
  • 6 to 8 years of SQL work, ideally Snowflake SQL, with strong data modeling and modern warehouse skills.
  • 2 to 4 years with dbt, 3 to 5 years with GitHub, and 2 to 3 years with CI/CD tools for the modern data stack. Semantic layer experience is a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years with Tableau Cloud or a comparable modern visualization platform, plus 2+ years of Python development.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Workday, Oracle, Oracle BI and Jira, and with financial planning tools such as Anaplan or Adaptive. HTML and JavaScript for Tableau is preferred.
  • Fluent written and spoken communication, with the ability to work with executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

Conditions

Pay range is $176,000 to $210,000 USD, plus an annual incentive bonus. Pay is set through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, abilities and internal equity.
