The role is multidisciplinary. You will act as the technical services architect for the platform's hardware and sensor systems, build the digital pipelines that process and store incoming data, and serve as the main technical contact for internal and external stakeholders and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document the sensors, transducers, and other instrumentation needed for good data collection in health monitoring and condition-based maintenance.
  • Work with engineering teams to set data acquisition requirements and specifications that meet customer expectations.
  • Build and apply data processing algorithms and methods that keep data quality and integrity high.
  • Find and fix faults in DAQ systems, sensors, and data flow.
  • Run system validation and verification to confirm compliance with technical requirements and industry standards.
  • Write technical documents such as system specifications, test plans, operating procedures, CONOPS, and OPSCON.
  • Keep up with new developments in data acquisition, instrumentation, and signal processing.
  • Give technical support and training to end users of these systems.
  • Take part in project planning, scheduling, and financial planning, including business cases and return on investment, and report on overall progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining data acquisition systems.
  • Solid understanding of sensor technologies such as accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, and pressure transducers, plus signal conditioning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used in DAQ, such as Python and C++.
  • Experience with a range of DAQ hardware platforms and software tools.
  • Knowledge of data communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN bus, and MIL-STD-1553.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools.
  • Experience in the aerospace or defence industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good team player.
  • Able to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willing to travel for team meetings, customer demos, support, and similar needs.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken. Spanish is a plus.
  • You must stay aware of possible compliance risks and act with integrity, which the company treats as the basis for its success, reputation, and sustainable growth.
