As a Cybersecurity Liaison Officer (LNO), you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between various departments within the Department of the Air Force and the EITaaS Wave 1 cybersecurity team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure effective communication and collaboration between different stakeholders, enabling a proactive and comprehensive approach to cybersecurity risk management. Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis: Serve as a key liaison between cybersecurity and business units, analyzing stakeholder requirements, assessing operational risks, and supporting the integration of security solutions into organizational processes and project planning.
  • Communication and Education: Facilitate clear and timely communication regarding cybersecurity matters, including threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices. Organize and lead cybersecurity awareness sessions and training programs for non-technical staff to improve security posture across the organization.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Collaborate with various teams to identify potential cybersecurity risks within their respective areas of operation. Assist in conducting risk assessments and help develop mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Response Coordination: Support the cybersecurity incident response team in coordinating and communicating responses to cybersecurity incidents. Ensure that the relevant stakeholders are kept informed during incident resolution.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist in the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines across the organization. Collaborate with departments to ensure they are aligned with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Security Project Support: Provide insights and expertise to departments undertaking new projects or initiatives that involve information systems or technology. Ensure that security considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Threat Intelligence: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and industry developments. Share relevant threat intelligence with the appropriate teams and help devise strategies to counter emerging threats.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in meeting cybersecurity-related regulatory requirements and help prepare necessary documentation for compliance audits.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report key performance indicators related to cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring that progress is communicated to stakeholders and management.

Requirements

  • Required:
  • 12+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity or a related role, with a focus on risk management, incident response, policy implementation, and specifically including substantial experience in Active Directory security, Organizational Unit (OU) design and management, Intune configuration and security policy implementation, and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the ability to clearly articulate complex Active Directory, Intune, and STIG-related security concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, with in-depth knowledge of Active Directory vulnerabilities, Intune security settings, and STIG remediation techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks and standards such as NIST SP 800 series and DoD Policies, particularly those related to Active Directory hardening, Intune security baselines, and STIG compliance requirements.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations and provide practical solutions, including the ability to troubleshoot Active Directory security issues, identify Intune configuration gaps, and implement STIG remediation strategies.
  • Required DoD 8140 compliant certification such as CompTIA Security+
  • Other relevant cybersecurity certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), are a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to cybersecurity (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is advantageous.
