Description

The role sits on the operations floor with intelligence operators and analysts who run a multi-source analytic system the government owns, supporting critical national security work.

You work at the point of use to make that system perform for them, then pass what you learn about real mission use, shortfalls and next needs to the team that keeps improving it.

The role has two parts: helping users get mission value at their seat through training, integration, workflow analysis, troubleshooting and tradecraft support, and gathering structured observations to feed the product roadmap. The second part is the main focus.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the mission of on-site analysts and build software that smooths their workflows.
  • Build software that connects with the enterprise tools analysts already use, raising the intelligence value of available data.
  • Log all software you produce so it can be tracked and folded into the enterprise baseline when needed.
  • Build enough working knowledge of the customer's analytic tradecraft to turn operator problems into technical terms and technical limits into operator terms.
  • Provide users on site with integration, configuration, workflow automation and troubleshooting for the fielded capability. Diagnose issues in place and commit to a fix path within 48 hours.
  • Record use cases, capability gaps, workflow friction and unmet needs in a structured form, and send them to the capability roadmap on a set schedule.
  • Connect the enterprise capability to nearby mission systems and data sources at the site, within the fielded baseline and under the customer's configuration control. Coordinate any local workaround with the core team so it joins the enterprise baseline instead of living as separate local code.
  • Train users hands-on and offer best-practice guidance while keeping the customer's trust. Stay within contract scope, site security rules and the organizational conflict of interest framework.

Requirements

  • Hold an active TS/SCI security clearance. A polygraph is preferred.
  • Have 10+ years of operational intelligence experience (military, Intelligence Community or contractor) in analysis, targeting, collection or watch-floor work, or in direct software development support for those functions.
  • Show hands-on skill with analytic tools, data systems and their integration, able to configure, troubleshoot and adapt fielded capability with users in real time.
  • Work independently at a customer site with little direct supervision, using sound judgment when conditions are unclear.
  • Communicate well in writing and speech: produce clear, structured observation reports for technical readers and pass critical information to a geographically spread team across many time zones.
  • Be willing to relocate to the supported mission location or work extended assignments there, including OCONUS.
  • Desired: a bachelor's degree in a technical, intelligence or related field, or equivalent operational experience.
  • Desired: prior assignment at a joint or combined operational headquarters, a national intelligence agency, or a comparable operational intelligence organization.
  • Desired: familiarity with geospatial, multi-source or object-based analytic platforms and their data architectures.
  • Desired: experience as a forward-deployed engineer, embedded technical support or field engineer in a classified environment.
  • Desired: working knowledge of scripting or data transformation used for diagnosis and integration rather than standalone tool development.

Conditions

Full time, regular employee, with an active TS/SCI clearance needed to start.

Travel of up to 25%, outside the continental US.

Anticipated posting end date: 12/26/2026.

The role can be based in more than one location, so the stated range is the national average.

Final salary depends on location, federal contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant experience, skills, education and certifications.

Proposed salary range: $114,600-$252,100.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits covering healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education and time off.
  • Flexible time off and access to learning resources.
  • Competitive pay and learning and development opportunities.
