Customer Engineer C3/C4

The company supplies materials science and engineering solutions that go into almost every new semiconductor chip and advanced display.

Its equipment supports AI work and the commercial launch of next-generation chips.

The team installs and services this equipment for customers.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and upgrade equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose technical faults using digital analytics and basic diagnostic methods, with help from senior field service engineers.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Work with senior engineers and customers to learn their roadmaps, process flows, inflection points, requirements and business goals.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers, keeping operations running smoothly and service high in quality.
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• You must have finished an Associate degree, military technical training, field service work or a trade certification.
• 4-7 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or another equipment support field.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum and/or thermodynamics.
• Strong skill with hand tools, including digital multimeters.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• A valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.
• Ability to meet all on-site requirements, including safety rules, environmental guidelines and COVID-19 protocols.

Conditions

Pay range: $37.00 - $51.20.

Locations: Austin, TX; Hillsboro, OR; or Phoenix, AZ.

Full-time, assignee / regular role.

Travel: 25% of the time.

Candidates living in Arizona or Oregon can initially expect minimal travel, up to 20%. Candidates elsewhere will travel extensively until site completion, currently expected around mid next year.

Relocation to Austin, TX is required upon site completion. The role is eligible for relocation.

The role is for the Terra FAB site opening in Austin, TX, for a fab customer.

Physical demands: frequent walking, long periods of standing, tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, stairs and ladders, work at height, lifting up to 35 lbs, distinguishing colors, working with electricity, noisy environments, and hand and power tools.

Clean room work requires personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.

Pay depends on location, hire grade, job knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity with current team members.

For sales roles, the posted range is Target Total Cash, meaning base salary plus target bonus at 100% goal achievement.
