Description

The company works in luxury health, wellness and hospitality, creating immersive spaces where performance, design and human connection come together, and it does not treat its work as a traditional fitness business.

The company is looking for a Creative Director with a clear strategic outlook and a solid base in art direction and design, to guide how the brand expresses itself creatively.

You will work alongside the VP of Creative as a strategic partner and creative lead, turning brand and business goals into strong ideas, standout campaigns and well-crafted experiences at every customer touchpoint.

The role suits someone with sharp taste, conceptual thinking, strategic vision and strong leadership, who can motivate the creative team, uphold brand quality and carry work from concept to finished output while helping shape what comes next for the brand.

Responsibilities

  • Set the overall creative vision, brand positioning, campaign strategy and long-term direction together with the VP of Creative.
  • Turn shifting business priorities, consumer insight and cultural trends into creative strategies that help the brand stand out and grow.
  • Lead integrated creative concepts that build brand equity, stay culturally relevant and support business goals.
  • Set creative priorities, standards and direction for the wider creative organization.
  • Speak for creative in cross-functional discussions, bringing a clear point of view and influencing decisions at senior level.
  • Own the visual voice of the brand, pushing boundaries while keeping it consistent, refined and true to its premium position across every touchpoint.
  • Steer the development of the visual identity, balancing established codes with forward-looking ideas.
  • Set the bar for art direction, graphic design, photography, film, typography and visual storytelling.
  • Review work across campaigns, digital, social, content, experiential, environmental and member communications with a critical eye.
  • Stay engaged with fashion, design, art, photography, architecture and culture, and bring those ideas into the work.
  • Lead the strategy, concept and visual development of multi-channel brand campaigns, initiatives and experiences, from first idea to final delivery.
  • Push for original, culturally resonant ideas that serve a clear strategic purpose.
  • Direct and sharpen creative presentations, treatments, mood boards and storytelling that convey the vision clearly.
  • Provide senior art direction for photography, film and content, working with internal teams and outside creative talent.
  • Oversee creative production and post-production to hold a high standard of craft and consistency.
  • Weigh creative ambition against timelines, budgets, resources and business priorities.
  • Decide when to hand work to the team and when to get hands-on to strengthen an idea or solve a creative problem.
  • Manage, inspire and develop a multidisciplinary creative team, building a culture of ambition, collaboration, rigor, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Give clear direction, useful feedback and mentoring so designers, art directors and creative partners take ownership of their work while staying aligned with one vision.
  • Find ways to build team capabilities and improve creative processes and ways of working, for both quality and efficiency.
  • Work with the VP of Creative on team development, organizational priorities, talent planning and the long-term growth of the creative function.
  • Build strong relationships with outside agencies, photographers, directors and emerging talent.
  • Act as a senior creative partner and an extension of the VP of Creative, leading key initiatives, stakeholder relationships and creative decisions across Marketing, Brand, Digital, Social, Content, Product and other teams.
  • Build alignment so teams understand both the vision and the business reasoning behind the work.
  • Present and defend creative recommendations to senior leadership with strategic reasoning and sound creative judgment.
  • Help set creative priorities and allocate resources to maximize brand impact and team effectiveness.
  • Make the case for creativity as a driver of differentiation, consumer engagement and long-term business growth.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years in creative direction, art direction, brand design or a related field, with proven leadership experience.
  • A solid grounding in graphic design and visual art direction, shown through an exceptional portfolio of conceptual, refined and culturally relevant work.
  • Experience leading creative teams and building integrated brand campaigns, ideally in luxury, fashion, lifestyle, beauty or other premium consumer brands.
  • A track record of linking brand strategy and business goals to compelling creative ideas and execution.
  • Deep knowledge of visual identity, design systems, photography, film, typography and contemporary visual storytelling.
  • A history of directing high-profile campaigns and productions with leading photographers, directors and creative partners.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire people, develop talent and build a culture of creative excellence.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with executive leadership.
  • A highly developed aesthetic sense and a firm grasp of luxury positioning, cultural relevance and brand differentiation.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, balancing competing priorities and making confident creative decisions in a quick-moving setting.
  • A strategic, entrepreneurial mindset with exceptional attention to detail and an uncompromising standard for creative quality.
