The role supports the build-out, rollout, and ongoing improvement of vision systems that use neural networks in a manufacturing plant, working in an agile setting.

  • Install and configure NVIDIA X-Desktop environments and the related system components.
  • Write, document, and run test cases, including system and user acceptance testing.
  • Follow software development best practices and the engineering processes and methods the team has adopted.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders so solutions meet operational and quality needs.
  • Help integrate vision systems with controls and manufacturing equipment.
  • Give technical guidance and hands-on support to users of the neural net and vision applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or software development.
  • Experience with industrial vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence.
  • Working knowledge of Python, C, or C++.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and how they integrate with vision systems.
  • Knowledge of networking, including IP addressing, device networks, switches, and routers.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings in tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of basic electrical installation requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to juggle several priorities and adjust when requirements change.
  • Desired: problem solving that weighs speed, quality, and risk; clear communication with varied audiences; and keeping current in your technical area.
