Consultant, Software Engineer

Description

The company is a large insurance and financial services business with a Fortune 100 listing and nearly $70 billion in annual sales. Its technology team is looking for software engineers who care about delivering strong service to customers, who sit at the center of its work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain batch and online mainframe applications in COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS and CICS for insurance and underwriting systems.
• Write object-oriented code in Java/J2EE, C and Ruby on Linux.
• Automate the manual upload of Guidewire Policy Center users.
• Maintain and improve batch processing using SOAP web services, Spring, REST APIs and Linux.
• Design and build database structures in DB2, IMS, Oracle, SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Support and configure Guidewire Policy Center and work through system incident tickets.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology.
• 5 years of experience doing the work described above.

Conditions

Not eligible for overtime (exempt role).

Hybrid work, based in a normal office environment.

You may be on call after normal working hours and/or on weekends.

The duties listed are the core functions of the role, but the mix may vary by person.

Salary is set by geographic structure. Placement within the starting range depends on skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope, complexity, location, local labor costs and other employment conditions.

The national salary range is $118,000.00 to $222,000.00. The expected starting salary range is $118,000.00 to $178,000.00.

Part-time pay is prorated from these full-time ranges based on hours worked.
