Component Solutions Sales Engineer

Its compressors and motors business has worked for nearly 50 years on eco-friendly, energy-saving technology. The team builds high-precision components through machining and assembly, and makes inverter solutions for residential and commercial buildings.

This is an OEM compressor sales engineer role in Farmers Branch, TX, on the Component Solutions Engineering Team.

The company needs a sales engineer for the HVACR industry. You will manage projects between the company and OEM manufacturers and coordinate communication with their R&D teams. The goal is to grow business by giving customers strong technical support and building lasting working relationships. You will act as the engineering expert on compressor design and application. This is not an application engineering role focused on sizing systems for conditioned spaces.

Responsibilities

• Always look for the best component pairings for HVAC OEM customers.
• Help OEM customers find and qualify compressor opportunities.
• Give technical or process support during qualification and reliability work on the company's products.
• Help build customer business cases for new concept solutions when needed.
• Run project timelines and deliverables from the point of view of new compressor applications.
• Lead projects as a sales engineer and team lead, judging design and application risk on large projects that demand deep technical skill in specific areas.
• Carry out detailed engineering analysis to quantify cost savings and other customer gains.
• Prepare submittals and presentations covering performance data, component lists, mechanical and P&ID drawings, vendor component information and project milestones.
• Work with vendors and factory engineering on critical analysis.
• Take part in trade shows and exhibitions related to the company's business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, as appropriate.
• Best match: 5+ years of experience in HVAC compressor design and manufacturing for residential and/or commercial air conditioner or heat pump products.
• Next best match: 5+ years of experience in HVAC unit design and manufacturing for residential and/or commercial air conditioner or heat pump products.
• Preferred: membership in ASHRAE or AHRI, and function-specific licences or certifications.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage development projects.
• Full competence in analysing and assessing mechanical and electronic systems, and the ability to lead teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable in customer-facing work, and fluent in English.
• Solid basic computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project.

Conditions

Salary range: $85,000 to $110,000 USD.

Travel about 10% of the time, domestic and international, including OEM manufacturing sites and the company's manufacturing and HQ sites in Mexico and Korea.

Occasional international travel of 1 to 3 weeks a year.
