CNC Programmer

Description

This is a highly skilled CNC programming role at the Grove City Diesel Engine plant. You will build programs and processes that bring industrial manufacturing methods into daily production, and you will drive improvements to programming and process work.

Responsibilities

• Program and optimize the plant's machining centers using G/M code, Mastercam, 3D design and inspection software.
• Help choose manufacturing methods for current and new machining processes.
• Write and refine the programming standard methods.
• Train machine operators and other programmers.
• Investigate common machining and process defects and troubleshoot them, working with machine and tooling vendors when needed.
• Lead the development and rollout of equipment improvement strategies, using new and existing tooling and programming technology for both short-term and long-term fixes.
• Support the maintenance and management team on process improvements and help build a continuous improvement culture.
• Perform duties outside your normal function or trade when asked, with training provided where needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, plus at least 4 years of technical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience with programming and machine control systems.
• Strong understanding of 3 and 4 axis machining centers.
• 5 axis knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens and/or Mazatrol controls.
• Ability to train and mentor team members through technical communication and/or classroom presentations.
• Able to complete machine, fixture and tooling setups on your own.
• CMM programming in PCDMIS and Camio is preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• CAM programming experience is preferred, with Mastercam preferred.

Conditions

Full-time role based at the Grove City plant, with exposure to the shop floor, so PPE must be worn.

The work includes walking, climbing, stooping, bending and lifting as part of hands-on learning.

Any offer is conditional on passing a drug screen (where applicable) and a fitness-for-duty test (where applicable).

The base salary range is $60,000-$90,000. Final pay may depend on training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demand and work location, and the range may change over time.
