Cloud Transformation Engineer

Description

Based in Barcelona, Spain, this role sits in the digital cloud transformation team and helps shape how the company uses cloud across its business, operations and engineering work.

You will design and drive transformation work on provisioning, tagging, PaaS and marketplace areas, working with engineering, FinOps and business teams toward a simpler cloud setup.

The company is a global biopharmaceutical business focused on human health, operating in around 100 countries.

Responsibilities

• Define the cloud operating model so it matches business and engineering goals.
• Design and put in place transformation processes for provisioning, tagging, PaaS and marketplace.
• Align engineering, FinOps and business teams so cloud operations stay consistent.
• Lead adoption and change work so new cloud practices spread across the organization.
• Build Snowflake data capabilities that improve operational control and automation.
• Track transformation KPIs, spot gaps and report on results.
• Manage key vendor relationships that support cloud transformation and purchasing.
• Promote DevSecOps by running enablement sessions, leading Communities of Practice and connecting development, security and operations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on work in cloud infrastructure, cloud operations or cloud transformation, ideally in a large global setting.
• Strong Azure skills; AWS or GCP experience is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of cloud operations at scale.
• Hands-on work with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Understanding of tagging governance and PaaS or marketplace purchasing.
• Experience building and automating CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with data lake platforms, especially Snowflake, plus FinOps practices and DevOps tooling.
• Ability to use AI tools.
• Self-driven and organized, with strong prioritization skills.
• Creative, willing to question the status quo and pick up new technologies quickly.
• Strong communicator who can influence stakeholders and drive cultural change across a global, multinational matrix organization.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is mandatory.

Conditions

Hybrid role based at the Barcelona hub in Barcelona, Spain.

Salary range is €49.600,00 - €74.400,00.

Final pay depends on demonstrated experience, skills, location and other relevant factors.
