Cloud Solution Architect (f/m/div)

Description

You will design, build, and tune secure, scalable, high-performance cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.

You will partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to define cloud architectures, guide application modernization, and drive migration and transformation projects in the cloud.

The team is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and runs central services for the group, including accounting, procurement, communications, legal, and marketing, as well as IT and industrial consulting. The wider group has more than 400,000 employees in 60 countries.

Responsibilities

• Design and build end-to-end Azure architectures for enterprise applications.
• Choose hosting and modernization approaches that use PaaS, containers, and serverless services.
• Design networks that are secure, resilient, and scalable across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Lead cloud migration and transformation work, making sure governance, security, and compliance requirements are met.
• Work with stakeholders and technical teams to deliver cloud solutions.
• Tune cloud environments for security, availability, performance, and cost.
• Set and promote cloud architecture standards, good practices, and reusable solutions.

Requirements

• A university degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a comparable field.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure or cloud architecture are an advantage.
• Several years of professional cloud architecture work, focused strongly on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven record of designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
• Experience with application hosting, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise networking.
• Hands-on work with cloud migration, governance, security, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Azure App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure API Management, Azure Front Door, Application Gateway, load balancers, VNets, hub-and-spoke architecture, Azure Firewall, private endpoints and network security, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of AWS and/or GCP is an advantage.
• Good grasp of cloud security, governance, monitoring, availability, and cost optimization.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to turn business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• A structured, proactive way of working.
• Able to work alone and in international, cross-functional teams.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of German is an advantage.
