Description

The company is a technology firm within the global Accenture group. Its 13,000+ people support US federal clients in defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health.

This is an onsite role at Eglin AFB, Florida, building secure cloud platforms for government customers.

You would design, build, and run enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure for classified and sensitive environments.

The team sets strategy centrally but leaves engineers to own how work gets done, within Agile delivery. Quick experiments and learning from setbacks are encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build secure, scalable cloud architectures across several platforms, using program templates and proven practices.
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code so deployments are consistent and repeatable.
  • Set up and tune cloud security controls and compliance measures.
  • Diagnose complex infrastructure faults and make performance improvements.
  • Take part in sprints, standups, retrospectives, and planning sessions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on fast development cycles, adapting to shifting requirements without lowering delivery quality.
  • Propose improvements to processes, tools, and methods.
  • Spot infrastructure needs and optimization chances on your own initiative.
  • Make technical calls independently within the central vision, and explain their impact to stakeholders.
  • Model ownership, accountability, and new thinking, and mentor colleagues while sharing knowledge across the organization.
  • Promote technical standards and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in cloud environments.
  • Help with security audits and compliance assessments for government requirements.
  • Manage encryption, key management, and access control.
  • Watch infrastructure for threats and remediate them.
  • Write security documentation and operating procedures.
  • Keep up with changing security requirements and cloud platform updates.
  • Connect multiple cloud platforms and hybrid environments.
  • Build solutions that use the strengths of different cloud providers.
  • Apply consistent security and operations practices across platforms.
  • Support migrations and platform optimization work.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or both.
  • Two years of building secure cloud architectures for enterprise or government settings.
  • Hands-on work with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps practice, or both.
  • Working understanding of systems engineering, networking, or security.
  • Current CompTIA Security+, or DoD 8570 IAT Level II as an equivalent certification. Required.
  • Bonus: a technical bachelor's degree (computer science, information systems, engineering, or similar), or 4 years of equivalent work or military service.
  • Bonus: AWS Solutions Architect certification.
  • Bonus: experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud architecture.
  • Bonus: experience building and maintaining infrastructure code with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or similar.
  • Bonus: experience with containers and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Bonus: network architecture skills, including VPC design, hybrid connectivity, security groups, and load balancing.
  • Bonus: managing identities and access across several cloud platforms.
  • Bonus: scripting in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
  • Bonus: configuration management with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
