Cloud Infrastructure Systems Administrator - LINUX Admin

Description

You will join an IT team of professionals as a full-time Linux systems administrator working on cloud infrastructure.

The company wants someone with cloud experience, a working understanding of cloud services and strong Linux command line skills.

You do not need every skill listed; the team is looking for a mix of them.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Linux desktops at the local level.
• Support Linux servers hosted in the cloud, remotely.
• Support local and remote Cloud-in-a-Box systems built on Nutanix.
• Deploy and troubleshoot hardware.
• Manage and maintain AWS cloud resources.
• Work with IPA, Puppet, and Ansible to manage infrastructure.
• Keep documentation current.
• Help troubleshoot the cloud-based network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot network problems on local sites.
• Configure network switches and settings for newly deployed hardware.

Requirements

• Required: Hold a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, either Security+ or CISSP, or be willing to earn it within 1-2 months of starting.
• Required: Have a bachelor's degree in computing, IT, or a closely related discipline.
• Required: Have +/- 7 years of experience administering Linux servers and desktops, including network troubleshooting.
• Required: Understand DevOps practices and methodologies.
• Required: Be willing to learn new technologies.
• Desired: Knowledge of Puppet, IPA, and Kubernetes.
• Desired: Experience with Juniper and/or Cisco switches.
• Desired: Experience with or understanding of Cloud-in-a-Box solutions such as Nutanix.
• Desired: Experience with Proxmox.
• Desired: Experience with Ansible and scripting.
• Desired: Experience with Packer kickstarts and AMI creation.
• Desired: Experience using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation to provision cloud and on-premises resources.

Conditions

This is a full-time, regular position.

Candidates must hold a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph to start.

Travel of up to 10% within the continental US may be required.

The proposed salary range is $86,600 - $181,800.

Pay depends on factors such as location, federal contract labor categories and wage rates, prior relevant experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.
