You will take on new, high-stakes technical problems with company-wide reach and shape how engineering software, computational design and related practices evolve.
You will work across teams to set technical roadmaps, guide major engineering programs and define the architectural standards that let the company deliver more advanced computational design and manufacturing capabilities. You will also represent the company's technical expertise to key customers, vendors and external technical partners.
Responsibilities
Set technical direction and architectural standards for complex engineering software spanning interactive 3D applications, computational engineering and related platforms.
Act as a recognized authority in desktop CAE architecture, engineering application frameworks, graphics systems and computational software integration.
Resolve new, strategic architecture problems that affect engineering software, computational design and platform capabilities across the business.
Define architectural approaches that shape technical roadmaps and major engineering programs across the design group and related organizations.
Steer the evolution of shared capabilities such as interactive 3D frameworks, GPU-accelerated computational workflows and integration with CAE solvers and engineering platforms.
Shape architecture decisions that affect several programs, product areas, technical disciplines and external partnerships.
Set technical standards and practices that improve interoperability, scalability, performance and engineering effectiveness.
Track emerging technology trends and assess what they mean for the engineering software strategy, computational capabilities and long-term technical edge.
Advise senior technical and business leaders on strategic architecture choices, complex technical risks and major technology investments.
Lead or guide large technical initiatives that need coordination across several engineering functions and programs.
Speak for the company's technical expertise with key customers, vendors and external technical partners.
Share expertise and lead collaborative engineering efforts that shape technical practices well beyond a single program.
Mentor senior technical contributors and emerging architecture leaders to deepen the organization's expertise and technical judgment.
Keep architectural direction aligned with long-term business goals, balancing innovation, technical risk, performance and maintainability.
