Senior Flight Software Engineer

The company is moving quickly to build and deliver advanced defense systems, and it is assembling a new team to turn early ideas into working capability.

This is an early-stage role with significant ownership. You will work with strong colleagues and have a direct, measurable effect on the company's direction, whatever your function.

As a Senior Flight Software Engineer, you will design, build and test real-time embedded flight software for advanced systems. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance code that runs reliably in extreme conditions.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys hard problems, building sound systems from scratch, and moving quickly without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test real-time embedded flight software for missile systems.
• Work with GNC, systems and hardware engineers to integrate components smoothly.
• Build and maintain software for high-reliability, safety-critical settings.
• Support simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and flight tests to confirm performance.
• Take part in root cause analysis and debugging across software and system interfaces.
• Apply disciplined lifecycle practices, including configuration management and verification.
• Help define and refine development processes, tools and standards.
• Keep up with new technologies and best practices in flight software and real-time systems.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in embedded software or real-time systems.
• Strong C/C++ skills and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Understanding of hardware/software integration and real-time constraints.
• Experience with GNC systems or similar control-heavy applications.
• Solid grasp of testing, including simulation and HIL environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
• Active Top-Secret security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.
