Description

The company's Procurement Department, within the Business Directorate, has an opening for an undergraduate student intern in its Systems Group.

Working alongside senior business systems analysts, you will help support the electronic purchasing system and related business applications while learning how procurement processes and the systems behind them operate.

The role suits a student interested in business analysis, information systems, procurement, project management or enterprise applications.

Depending on the assignment, the schedule may be hybrid, mixing on-site and remote work, with the option to work from home one or more days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Understand how procurement workflows and enterprise purchasing software support the company's operations.
  • Help collect, write up and examine business and system requirements.
  • Sit in on meetings with system users, process owners, developers and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to requirements documents, process write-ups, use cases, test plans, user guides and training materials.
  • Help test applications and record the outcomes.
  • Review data and reporting needs, find the right data sources, and help build reports or dashboards.
  • Support project coordination, including tracking status, preparing meetings and handling communication.
  • Take on other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • You must be eligible to access the company's site under Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act.
  • You must be enrolled at a college or university, working toward an undergraduate degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a closely related field.
  • You need an interest in business analysis, procurement systems, enterprise applications or process improvement.
  • You can apply analytical and problem-solving skills to defined business or technical problems.
  • You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • You are skilled in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • You can work independently and as part of a team.
  • You stay organized and detail-focused.
  • You can pick up new software, business processes and technical concepts.

Conditions

Pay is $23.26 to $31.62 per hour.

Pay is set on a step scale, based on your most recently completed academic year.

The work model is hybrid.

Security clearance is listed as part of this role.

Under Section 3112 of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act, citizens of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea without dual US citizenship or legal permanent residence generally cannot access certain non-public areas of national security or nuclear weapons facilities. These restrictions apply to this role, so you must be eligible to access the site under Section 3112.

External applicants selected for this role must pass a drug test after the offer and before employment. The test includes marijuana, because federal law applies to the company as a federal contractor.

Some assignments require working in a Limited Area, where personal and lab mobile devices are not allowed. These devices include phones, tablets, fitness trackers, wireless headphones and other Bluetooth or wireless devices. If you use a medical device that pairs with a phone, you must still follow the phone rules in each area. Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities need separate approval. Hearing aids without wireless, or with wireless turned off, are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space inside buildings.

Fake job ads misuse the company's name. The company never makes an offer without a personal interview, never charges a fee, and lists all current openings on its career page, so do not respond to suspicious offers.

Benefits

  • Holiday pay.
  • Accrued sick leave.
  • Individual 401(k) contributions.
