Business Analyst

Description

This is a U.S.-based role. Every program the company supports requires U.S. citizenship for employment eligibility, and all work must take place within the continental United States.

The company is a small, customer-focused business headquartered in McLean, Virginia. It works on distributed data systems, platforms at scale, and complex application development for federal and public agencies, using design thinking, a modern tech stack, and cloud-native tools. The solutions it builds reach millions of Americans.

The team is growing quickly and is hiring a senior business analyst to support development work centered on human-centered design, security, and scale. The company is remote-first and does all of its work in open source.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and take an active part in requirements reviews, client support, testing, and day-to-day readiness analysis.
• Research and document business needs, speaking for users and customers throughout the project.
• Work directly with developers, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and testers to confirm the final functionality delivers the customer value that was identified.

Requirements

• Have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a technical role.
• Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and agile software development teams.
• Bring experience in requirements analysis, the scaled agile framework, data analytics, risk management, and agile transformations.
• Have technical experience in software development, systems engineering, integration, or release management.
• Hold at least a bachelor's degree.
• Hold an active Secret security clearance.
• Highly preferred: show strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
• Highly preferred: have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly preferred: adapt readily as business requirements change.
• Highly preferred: any certification in data management, data engineering, software development, cyber security, or SAFe is beneficial.

Conditions

This is an onsite role in Colorado Springs, CO, with up to 10% travel.

The salary range is $110,000 to $130,000.

Pay is set by the candidate's full experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities.
