The company is a next-generation global media and entertainment business with three segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer and TV Media.

You will support live productions, newsgathering and remotes in a field setting that runs 24x7x365.

You will plan and carry out the engineering work for projects, live productions and remotes assigned to Domestic Field Engineering.

Occasionally you will take the lead: building technology plans, organizing resources, guiding staff and making sure small remotes use suitable technical approaches.

You will also help design, install and integrate systems in an IP and IT-centric environment, including server-based systems and data networking such as routers and switches.

You will work with teams that move quickly, aim high and collaborate to get results.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run fiber, IP and satellite transmission links, along with video and audio routing and remote and local communications.
  • Carry out quality control, maintenance and repair on all television remote broadcast and receiving equipment.
  • Provide general hardware and software support on site for laptops, printers and connectivity equipment.
  • Work mainly in the field, and when not deployed, work in-house or help the Broadcast and IT teams with projects and maintenance.
  • Adapt to fast-changing conditions common in field remotes and take on varied tasks as the production needs.
  • Manage workload and workflow across a group of peers, with help from management.
  • Solve complex technical problems on your own and in a team setting.
  • Show competence across a wide range of technology and business contexts.

Requirements

  • Typically 4+ years in television, covering troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of broadcast production gear, IT systems, RF and satellite transmission, studio systems, IP and ASI streaming, file ingest and quality control.
  • Hands-on skill with a broad range of remote and production equipment, including SNG uplink and downlink, microwave, video encoding, ENG and studio cameras, A/V routers, video switchers, audio mixers, media decks, NLE edit systems and storage, fiber links, signal processing, transcoding, intercom, and computer and IT network architecture.
  • Strong problem solver who performs well in a quick-moving setting.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Visio.
  • Knowledge of computer and data networking hardware and applications, enough to give full technical support in the field.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A 4-year technical degree, preferably in electronics, or equivalent education, experience or training.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of emerging technologies, including IP video transport.
  • Preferred: experience working with technology companies such as Sony, Harmonic and Evertz.
  • Preferred: project team and project implementation experience.
  • Preferred: IT or network certifications.
  • Preferred: formal ITSM training or certification.

You must be able to lift and move equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.

Base salary range is $72,247.00 to $134,172.00 per year.

Actual pay depends on location, external market data, internal equity, skill set, experience, training, education and performance.

Accommodations are available during the hiring process for qualified candidates with disabilities on request.
