Bridge Engineer

Description

The company is a global infrastructure consulting firm working in water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings, from advisory and planning through design, engineering and construction management.

The company reports revenue of $16.1 billion for fiscal year 2025 and employs over 50,000 planners, designers, engineers and other professionals.

The role supports a senior engineer on part of a larger project, using established methods to handle detailed or routine calculations and simple tests.

You will work with moderate supervision and keep to agreed budgets and schedules.

You will guide entry-level engineers.

Responsibilities

• Take on defined parts of a larger assignment led by a more experienced engineer.
• Collect and cross-check basic engineering data using established, well-documented procedures.
• Carry out detailed or routine engineering work, including calculations and simpler tests.
• Suggest ways to approach new problems as they come up.
• Spot inconsistencies in results.
• Mentor entry-level engineers.

Requirements

• Mandatory: a Bachelor's degree from the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, Railways, Roads and Bridges.
• A Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Bridge Engineering is nice to have.
• At least 5 years of technical experience in structural engineering.
• Experience on international projects outside Romania is an advantage.
• Skill with bridge analysis and FEA software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, SOFiSTiK or similar.
• Proficiency in Revit or Open Bridge Designer for drafting and modelling.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in multidisciplinary, international teams.
• High proficiency in English, spoken and written.
