Description

This is a senior strategic role that tracks the latest trends in its field and applies them to the job and the business. Only a small number of people in the business provide this level of expertise.

You will negotiate internally, often with senior leaders, and need strong communication and diplomacy to guide, influence and persuade colleagues in other areas and, occasionally, external customers.

You will be accountable for significant direct business results or for authoritative advice on how the business runs, and you will carry some responsibility for technical strategy. Your decisions mainly affect one sub-function.

You will handle staff management, including resource planning and assigning work within your team or project.

The role sits in the LMS Optimization and Pricing team within the company Services, the LMS Liquidity Analytics and Optimization Lead position. The team aims to lift the financial performance, liquidity efficiency and balance sheet productivity of the company's global deposit franchise through commercial strategy, analytical tools, optimization campaigns, pricing governance and regulatory capital frameworks.

The team works where business strategy, treasury modelling and technology meet. It works closely with product heads, sales teams, balance sheet leads, corporate and business treasury, market managers, risk, controllers and technology partners, using expertise in client liquidity behaviour, regulatory metrics, client cost of funds and Services data architecture.

You will set the direction for deposit optimization and liquidity frameworks, improve and own the team's proprietary data mart, present to treasury governance bodies, lead optimization work worth millions of dollars in revenue and liquidity, and give executive-level pricing advice on key franchise relationships.

The job description gives a high-level view of the work, and other duties may be assigned when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead treasury advisory work on treasury operations, working capital, risk mitigation and treasury technology, applying your finance and accounting knowledge.
  • Win business by advising senior decision-makers at multinational companies and financial institutions on improving treasury performance and recommending best-practice answers, and shape complex global treasury and working capital solutions.
  • Help companies assess and resolve treasury challenges in highly regulated emerging markets.
  • Build and communicate analytical solutions that cover the tax and accounting effects of treasury structures, banking arrangements and cash pooling.
  • Design client solutions for global treasury and working capital priorities that also support the company's revenue goals.
  • Write and present thought leadership articles and talks.
  • Advise internal product and market teams on client and competitor positioning, gaps in requirements and market feedback.
  • Define and size segment-based positioning, packaging and pricing options to grow penetration and revenue faster.
  • Specify new product needs by defining and testing key features, sizing the opportunity, and modelling positioning and revenue.
  • Weigh risk in business decisions with attention to the firm's reputation and to its clients and assets. Drive compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policy, use sound ethical judgement, and escalate, manage and report control issues openly.
  • As a senior leader, run core optimization workstreams, shape regulatory liquidity models, lead cross-functional remediation programmes and oversee end-to-end technology.
  • Liquidity and balance sheet optimization: drive global initiatives that deliver annual revenue targets and liquidity value across the Services deposit franchise.
  • Treasury governance: represent the team in senior Treasury forums, champion and lead model upgrades with GLRM and Corporate Treasury, and run rapid macroeconomic stress tests that model deposit behaviour for Board presentations.
  • Stakeholder management: work with global clusters and sales teams to optimize RLAP, LCR and NSFR and keep them within target thresholds.
  • Project management: own analytical projects from data sourcing through delivery and follow-up.
  • Technology: define the business architecture and functional requirements for end-to-end analytics technology, including data acquisition and analysis that produces actionable insight.
  • Data quality: lead the escalation and follow-up process for data quality issues to protect the integrity of the underlying data.
  • Metrics: design, build and roll out new metrics that track performance and drive outcomes.
  • Training and talent: lead global training programmes for cluster balance sheet leads, product managers and sales teams on liquidity models, internal analytics tools and optimization levers.
  • Pricing and Optimization team: contribute subject matter expertise on client liquidity value, client pricing, client financials and Services data architecture.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Computer Science or Data Analytics
  • Master's degree, MBA, CFA or FRM strongly preferred
  • 7, 10+ years of progressive experience in Treasury, Liquidity Risk Management, Balance Sheet Management, Product Management or Financial Analytics at a Tier-1 global financial institution
  • Experience in Product Management beneficial
  • Customer service skills
  • Essential: deep subject matter expertise in regulatory liquidity metrics, including RLAP (Resolution Liquidity Adequacy and Positioning), LCR (Liquidity Coverage Ratio) and NSFR (Net Stable Funding Ratio)
  • Essential: thorough understanding of regulatory reporting data architecture, specifically Fed FR 2052a (Complex Institution Liquidity Monitoring Report) and Short-Term Wholesale Funding (STWF) calculations
  • Advanced quantitative analysis skills for interrogating large, complex transactional and balance sheet datasets
  • Proven project management experience leading the implementation of tools and solutions, including data marts and business intelligence suites
  • Ability to turn complex liquidity and quantitative modelling into concise, high-impact executive narratives and presentations for senior management, governance committees (FLRC/LIMRF) and Board reporting
  • Commercial acumen to balance regulatory risk constraints against revenue maximization
