Description

The team is new, formed within the Regional Platform Squad, which is one of the longest-running squads at the company. It builds the platform behind the core Transfer, Payout and Partner Integrations domains and helps product teams extend that platform to new products and markets.

The team's aim is to help the company work out accurately which products and features each customer can use. That depends on knowing where customers live or do business, so the first major project is reworking how customer residence, current location and address are collected and checked.

The company is a global technology business that makes it easier for people and businesses to move and manage money across borders.

Responsibilities

  • Rebuild how the company collects and validates customer residence, present location and address information.
  • Help decide which products and features are available to each customer.
  • Drive the technical direction for the team's domain as part of an autonomous team.
  • Contribute to the platform and back office tools, and occasionally to customer-facing flows.
  • Help scale the platform and build a strong transfer product.

Requirements

  • Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimisation and schema design.
  • Experience designing, deploying and maintaining clean RESTful APIs.
  • A commitment to good coding practice, code reviews and open feedback.
  • Enjoy writing testable code and work in a test-driven way.
  • Candidates who have only some of these skills but want to learn are encouraged to apply, since few people match every item.

Conditions

You must already be based in the UK or be able to work from the UK. The company cannot offer relocation or visa sponsorship for this role.

The role is hybrid and based in London.

Engineers work in an agile way, closely with the product manager and analyst. The team works across the London and Cherkasy offices.

Starting salary is £68,000 to £87,500.

The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
