Description

The company's digital technology group is a global team of business-minded technologists working on the future of healthcare digital services.

Its mission is to apply AI, data and scalable technology across the whole business.

You would join the Data Platforms organization to design, build and improve a next-generation data lake and governance ecosystem built around the OneLake initiative.

The role sits between cloud infrastructure, DevOps and modern data engineering, and you will learn the platform architecture closely.

The team works in a hybrid model, and the company is at the core of a large healthcare business with more than 100,000 employees worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of core architecture areas in the OneLake initiative, moving that knowledge in-house so you run them independently within your first 90 days.
  • Build and run secure, reliable multi-account AWS environments with AWS CDK and/or CloudFormation, managing deployments and fixing configuration drift.
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines, keep Git versioning clean, and enforce SDLC standards through automated tests, linting, code reviews and controlled promotion between environments.
  • Design, run and tune scalable data lakes using Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue (Catalog, crawlers, ETL jobs) and Amazon S3.
  • Apply fine-grained access control, role-based policies and least privilege with AWS IAM, keeping everything traceable and aligned with enterprise data governance.
  • Build backend automation, APIs and data sync layers with Python (Boto3), AWS AppSync (GraphQL), REST and serverless compute (AWS Lambda, RDS).
  • Work closely with distributed engineering squads, solution architects and business stakeholders, and step up to mentor colleagues during your first 12 months.

Requirements

  • Required: deep hands-on experience with core AWS services (IAM, VPC networking, CloudWatch, CloudTrail) and proven production experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and/or CloudFormation.
  • Required: high proficiency in Python, including Boto3 automation, plus Git version control and CI/CD pipeline automation with GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
  • Required: a collaborative mindset, senior-level debugging and root-cause analysis skills, and excellent written and spoken English.
  • Preferred: practical experience designing data lake architectures with Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue and Amazon S3, plus familiarity with Snowflake integrations.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of enterprise data experience in pharmaceutical or Life Sciences R&D, or another regulated sector such as Finance, MedTech or Telecom.

Conditions

Expected salary range for the primary location in Warsaw (Grafit): 170,100.00 PLN to 315,900.00 PLN.

Final pay depends on factors including your skills, experience, qualifications and location.

The role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a 15% target, based on individual and company performance.

Hybrid work: on average two office days per week, with specific days varying for workshops, conferences, town halls, team meetings and other collaborative events.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Gross salary of 14,175 to 26,325 PLN based on the employment contract.
  • Annual bonus based on your performance.
  • Dedicated training budget for training, certifications, conferences and different career paths.
  • Two Fridays off per quarter available through Recharge Fridays.
  • Take Time programme: up to 3 months of leave for any purpose.
  • Vacation subsidy available.
  • Flex Location: work from different places in the world for a set period.
  • Take Time for Charity: up to 2 weeks of additional paid leave for a charity of your choice.
  • Private healthcare (LuxMed packages), group life insurance (UNUM) and Multisport.
  • Stock share purchase additions.
  • Yearly opportunity to buy company laptops and cars, plus other perks.
  • An attractive benefits package comes with the role.
