AVP Applications Development Sr Programmer Analyst

Description

The company's Equities Middle Office Technology team is hiring a Senior Java/Spring Boot Developer. The role supports ongoing business-as-usual work on complex deliverables and Asia market expansion programs covering trade, allocation processing and regulatory compliance workflows.

You will work across the software lifecycle, from building and testing through deployment and continued production support. You will work closely with business analysts, the product platform team, QA, production support, and regulatory, compliance and audit groups. You will also take a proactive role in technical hygiene, security and vulnerability remediation to keep the platform sound and stable.

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex business processes, system processes and industry standards to resolve high-impact problems and projects.
• Bring deep applications programming expertise to your area and make sure application designs follow the overall architecture blueprint.
• Work with colleagues to extend functionality and improve the performance of existing processes.
• Adopt AI toolkits quickly, in line with the firm's plan to modernise how software is developed.
• Handle computing and estate management, including hygiene, security and vulnerability items.
• Help design and build automated integration tests.
• Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts, and assign work where needed.
• Provide second-line support for the processes and components you build, including out-of-hours cover.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in core Java application development or a systems analysis role.
• Strong core Java skills, including collections, IO, multi-threading and generics.
• A self-motivated approach, comfort with new challenges, and willingness to pick up new technologies.
• Ability to reprioritise quickly as circumstances change.
• Experience with or working knowledge of an Equities trading platform.
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure, cloud, containerisation (for example Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Experience with standard developer tools such as Lightspeed, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and build tools such as Gradle and Maven. Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Exposure to, and interest in, AI tools and technologies.
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

Full-time role in the Technology job family, Applications Development group.

Salary range for the primary location: $94,300.00 - $141,500.00.
