Description

The company is a global technology and professional services firm with about 26,000 staff, serving US government, defense and intelligence agencies in more than 50 countries. This role is an AVI Engineer subject matter expert in the IT Infrastructure and Operations job family.

You will design technical solutions for complex problems and oversee a project's technical direction, from interpreting requirements to assigning them to technical components and defining the processes that put them into practice. Your designs should follow industry best practices, balance security and quality, and keep total cost of ownership low. You will work largely on your own with little supervision and adjust to IT Operations needs as they come up.

The role requires a current Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph, or the ability to obtain one. No public trust clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Define internal and external customer IT infrastructure architecture needs, then design solutions that meet them, covering capacity planning, systems configuration and tuning, monitoring, backups, and hardware and software installation.
  • Run onsite AV system operations, maintenance and troubleshooting to keep systems ready for use.
  • Support end users in person or by phone with technical problems.
  • Help troubleshoot and tune AV performance, availability and scalability.
  • Maintain system documentation and troubleshooting guides in Confluence, Jira or other ticketing systems.
  • Train users on AV systems.
  • Follow change management processes for every system update or change.
  • Be available for on-call support outside regular business hours to handle urgent issues and keep AV systems running.
  • Work with systems administrators, storage administrators and application developers to solve complex problems.
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of related network engineering experience.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Integrated Client Transmitters.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting audiovisual systems such as Cisco and Thinklogical.
  • Experience supporting environments with high operating temperatures.
  • Ability to turn unclear requirements or problems into technical solutions.
  • Experience researching and resolving complex problems.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in complex environments.
  • A bachelor's or technology degree in engineering or a related specialized field, or equivalent job-related experience of 19 years.
  • Current Top Secret SCI with SCI polygraph clearance, or ability to obtain one.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Desired: Experience configuring, designing and troubleshooting QoS on LAN or WAN devices.
  • Desired: Juniper, Palo Alto or Cisco Next Generation Firewall certifications and hands-on experience.
  • Desired: Experience designing, engineering and deploying multi-factor authentication solutions.
  • Desired: Experience designing, engineering and deploying zero-trust solutions.

Conditions

Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, onsite in Herndon, Virginia, with no travel required.

The likely salary range is $191,250 to $258,750. Actual pay depends on experience, geographic location and possibly contract terms, and may fall outside this range.

As part of hiring, you will complete an identity verification process using biometrics and artificial intelligence, and you must be on camera for virtual interviews. By proceeding, you consent to collection and use of your biometric data for identity and security checks.

Equal opportunity employer, including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with pre-tax and post-tax contributions up to IRS limits and a company match.
  • Medical plans, some with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental and vision plans.
  • Paid vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave.
  • Full flex work weeks where possible.
  • Short- and long-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness and business travel accident insurance, provided or available.
