The company runs a digital marketplace that connects buyers, including Fortune 1000 companies, with manufacturers. Its Salesforce org handles advertiser contracts, leads, renewals and invoices, and syncs them with HubSpot, Intacct and ZoomInfo.
This is a staff role on the Salesforce Platform Team, serving as technical lead for the org. You will work closely with Sales, Sales Ops and Finance to make the platform reliable, well governed and predictable. The role is hands-on and highly visible, with no direct reports.
Responsibilities
Turn a reactive backlog into a prioritized, owned delivery process. Make sure every ticket leaving Triage has a named owner and a sized estimate, and lead sprint planning, story time and retro on the 14-day cadence.
Own the design and health of the Salesforce integrations with Intacct, HubSpot and ZoomInfo, along with CPQ, contracts, change orders and lead routing. Fix integration failures at their root cause using error handling, idempotency and reconciliation rather than one ticket at a time.
Guide build-versus-buy and declarative-versus-programmatic decisions. Keep the org maintainable by moving all metadata through Gearset and GitHub CI/CD, blocking direct production changes, and maintaining a current technical roadmap that includes structural debt.
Write Apex, LWC and Flow for the hardest problems and review pull requests. Mentor developers and admins on Salesforce best practices. Set technical expectations for onshore and offshore contractors, review their work, and write assessments of their delivery quality for the Sr. Manager.
Act as the technical escalation point for production incidents and lead root-cause analysis.
Build strong working relationships with Sales, Sales Ops, Finance, Marketing, IT and the Marketplace Salesforce team. Push back with a clear rationale when a request is the wrong solution.
Own the technical side of SOX compliance for the platform. Prepare and review deployment audit evidence, produce the recurring SOX reports for Finance and auditors, and run connected-app and API access reviews.
Requirements
At least 5 years of professional Salesforce development experience in a fast-paced, problem-solving setting. You have built and run Apex and Lightning Web Components in production and are fluent in Flow and declarative configuration.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
You have designed Salesforce integrations with ERP and marketing automation systems such as Intacct, NetSuite, HubSpot or Marketo, using Salesforce APIs and middleware or cloud services such as AWS.
Experience with Salesforce CPQ, contracts and the change-order lifecycle.
You have deployed Salesforce code through a full SDLC, including code review, testing, multi-environment management and a CI/CD pipeline such as Gearset or Copado with Git-based workflows.
You have supported SOX controls for a Salesforce org, covering deployment audit evidence, access reviews, permission governance and reporting to Finance or auditors.
Working code in JavaScript, Python or Java beyond Apex, and SQL for data investigation.
You have guided a team's technical direction, mentoring through code review and leading team ceremonies. Experience with distributed or offshore contributors is a plus.
You communicate clearly at every level, from a Finance controller to a nearshore developer.
Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I and II are strongly preferred. Technical Architect, Administrator or CPQ Specialist is a plus.
Experience in a B2B marketplace, media and advertising, or subscription-revenue business is a plus.
Practical use of AI tooling in development is a plus. The team uses Claude and Cursor as approved standards.
