Associate, DevOps Engineer

The Data Cognition Team builds a scalable, customizable and sustainable set of AI-enabled products for several business units, including investment banking, global markets and other divisions.

The company is a full-service financial services provider. It offers corporate and investment banking, treasury management, and research and advisory services to clients worldwide.

This role sits in the Capital Markets Sales & Service job family and supports AI and data applications in investment banking and global markets. You will help create secure, automated and scalable environments for deploying analytics and machine learning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and run end-to-end automated delivery pipelines for AI and data applications, with a focus on reliability and scale.
• Improve the build infrastructure used by the company's in-house data and analytics applications.
• Write Infrastructure as Code for platform components and build tools that make platform management more efficient.
• Maintain and upgrade server infrastructure, including several clusters.
• Extend monitoring across a range of applications and resolve infrastructure issues quickly.
• Connect enterprise technologies to support application releases and system integration.
• Track new developments in DevOps, AI/ML and cloud, and use them to refine how the team works.

Requirements

• Hold a university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related technical field.
• Have solid experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Have hands-on experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and ArgoCD, deploying services such as Kafka, Druid and OpenTelemetry.
• Be proficient in Python, Go and Bash.
• Have experience with Terraform, Helm and Kustomize.
• Know cloud security frameworks and tools, including CSPM, DSPM and ASPM.
• Have worked with containerized environments and building OCI images.
• Have used DevOps tools such as GitHub, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch and Kibana.
• Understand security protocols including Kerberos, TLS and OAuth2.
• Communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or AWS, Azure or GCP cloud certifications are listed as qualifications.
• Have experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI or similar advanced AI, including building and deploying intelligent agents and generative models.

Conditions

This is a salaried role.

The base salary range is $90,000-$120,000 CAD. It is open to negotiation and depends on the candidate meeting the skills, experience, education and qualification requirements.

Pay varies with location, skills, experience, education and qualifications, and may include commission. Part-time pay is pro-rated by regularly worked hours. For commission roles, the listed salary is the expected first-year target.

Total compensation varies by pay type and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses and other perks.
