Apps Dev Tech Lead Analyst - Vice President

This is a senior role in the Technology group's Applications Development job family, and it is full time.

You will set up and roll out new or changed application systems and programs with the Technology team.

Your main job is to direct the team's analysis and coding work on applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain efficient, scalable Python code for generative AI applications.
• Build and run backend services with FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• Connect GenAI APIs such as OpenAI and Gemini to create new features and products.
• Build and tune retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems so model answers fit their context.
• Improve application performance, scalability and security.
• Deploy and manage applications on container orchestration platforms such as OpenShift and ECS.
• Write unit and integration tests that keep code reliable.
• Review colleagues' code and promote high standards and good practice.
• Work with product managers, data scientists and engineers to define needs and deliver solutions.
• Set standards for coding, testing, debugging and rollout, and understand system flow in depth.
• Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts, assigning work as needed.
• Work with management teams to integrate functions toward goals, and identify and specify system upgrades for new products and process gains.
• Analyse complex business, system and industry-standard issues in depth to solve high-impact problems.
• Bring advanced application programming expertise and keep designs aligned with the architecture blueprint.
• Understand how business areas such as architecture and infrastructure fit together.
• Assess risk in business decisions, protecting the firm's reputation, clients and assets; follow laws, rules, regulations and policy; escalate and report control issues openly.
• Lightspeed familiarity is a plus.
• Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• The following are listed as recommended qualifications.
• At least 6 years of professional software development, mostly in Python.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI concepts and tools.
• Working experience with GenAI APIs such as OpenAI and Gemini.
• Practical experience building RAG systems.
• Expertise in at least one modern Python web framework: FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• Sound grasp of best practices, including Git version control, testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work alone or in a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
• A master's degree is preferred.

Conditions

Full time, based in Irving, Texas, United States.

Pay range for the primary location is $125,760.00 to $188,640.00.
