Description

The company makes materials science and engineering equipment used to build nearly every new semiconductor chip and advanced display, and its tools support AI and the commercialization of next-generation chips.

This role shapes fault isolation methods for the company's own fault isolation technology. You will work with customers, product engineering and R&D to build and refine workflows for die-level fault localization, failure analysis and root-cause determination, combining technical depth, hands-on lab work and customer contact to bring the technology into advanced semiconductor use.

Responsibilities

  • Build a detailed picture of customer technologies and their key gaps, and carry work through to a working solution.
  • Lead difficult, complex application projects and the people on them.
  • Run execution teams for beta sites, evaluations and demonstrations at customer sites, staying closely involved in the statement of work and delivery schedule.
  • Work with customers to pin down technical requirements and timelines.
  • Define or approve product application support plans for installation.
  • Design and lead new methods that tune system performance for specific applications.
  • Analyze, develop and hand over new application capabilities within the system envelope, from the product division to the customer application support team.
  • Lead customer technical review meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in electrical engineering, materials science, physics or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of semiconductor industry experience in failure analysis, silicon debug, product engineering or applications engineering.
  • Proven ability to develop, document and transfer application workflows and best practices for customer deployment.
  • Experience with fault localization methods such as LADA, LVP, SDL or other semiconductor failure analysis techniques.
  • Experience using Advantest V93000 (93K) or equivalent ATE systems for device characterization and debug.
  • Familiarity with DFT methods and CAD-based debug tools for fault isolation and root-cause analysis.
  • Clear conceptual and practical expertise in your discipline, with basic knowledge of related fields.
  • Knowledge of best practices and of how your area fits with others, plus awareness of competitors and what sets them apart.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced colleagues and lead small projects with manageable risk and resource needs.
  • Skill in solving complex problems, seeing existing solutions from new angles, and judging based on several information sources.
  • Ability to influence customer, operational and project work within your team and adjacent teams, working inside broad guidelines and policies.
  • Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus.

Conditions

Full-time, regular assignee position based in Benicia, CA.

Pay range is $124,000.00 to $171,000.00.

Salary depends on location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, and on fairness relative to current team members.
