Description

The company is a global media and entertainment business. It makes and distributes stories and entertainment across film, TV, streaming and sports, and it is organised into three segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer, and TV Media.

The role sits on an app development team building AI and machine learning features for mobile and web products that reach millions of users worldwide.

You will work with teams that move quickly, take bold approaches and deliver results together.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain AI and ML features for the company's core services and customer-facing apps.
  • Integrate machine learning models into mobile and web apps so they work across devices.
  • Make AI features scalable, fast and reliable for very large user numbers.
  • Build mobile and web interfaces for features such as personalised recommendations, smart search and dynamic content generation.
  • Connect data pipelines, ML models and real-time data processing into complete app solutions.
  • Optimise models for fast production deployment, lower latency and a better user experience.
  • Apply transfer learning, deep learning and reinforcement learning to improve model and system performance.
  • Monitor and debug deployed models, and manage versioning, rollback and performance tuning in production.
  • Work with product managers, UX/UI designers and business teams so AI features meet customer needs and business goals.
  • Align with software engineers, data scientists and AI architects on architecture, design and behaviour of AI-driven features.
  • Turn business requirements into technical solutions and explain technical problems and fixes to non-technical leaders.
  • Take part in brainstorming new AI/ML features and apps.
  • Track AI/ML trends, tools and methods, and test new frameworks to improve apps.
  • Review how AI-powered apps perform, suggest improvements, and act on user feedback and test results.
  • Help improve development practices by adopting new approaches and refining current processes.
  • Test AI/ML apps thoroughly on every supported platform, including mobile and web.
  • Write unit tests, integration tests and other quality checks for AI-powered features.
  • Find and fix problems with performance, scalability and security.
  • Keep code, security and data privacy aligned with industry standards and internal guidelines.
  • Own deployments so launches go smoothly and versions are managed well.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, artificial intelligence or a related field.
  • AI/ML or app development certifications are a plus.
  • At least 3 years of app development experience, with a strong record of integrating AI/ML.
  • Hands-on experience building AI/ML applications, including model integration, real-time inference and deployment.
  • Skill in building mobile and web apps with modern frameworks such as React Native, Swift, Kotlin, Django or Flask.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure and with putting AI models into cloud-native applications.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras and Scikit-learn, including optimising and scaling models in production.
  • Deep learning experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch or JAX, for training and fine-tuning models.
  • Knowledge of transformer models (GPT, BERT, LLaMA), diffusion models (Stable Diffusion, DALL·E) and VAEs.
  • Ability to write effective prompts and improve LLM output.
  • Experience with LoRA, PEFT and RLHF for fine-tuning and optimising models.
  • NLP or computer vision skills, depending on the application, whether text, images or multimodal AI.
  • Frontend skills in React, Next.js and Vue.js for web, and Swift or Kotlin for mobile.
  • Backend skills in Node.js, Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) or Go for building APIs.
  • Database experience with NoSQL (MongoDB, Firebase) and SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience integrating APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face and Google Gemini.
  • Cloud skills with AWS (SageMaker, Lambda), Google Cloud (Vertex AI) or Azure (OpenAI services).
  • Docker and Kubernetes for deploying scalable AI services.
  • MLOps and CI/CD with GitHub Actions, MLflow and Kubeflow for ongoing model integration and monitoring.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • Experience with Agile methods and CI/CD pipelines for app development.
  • Clear communication, including explaining complex AI concepts to non-technical people.
  • A collaborative approach and the drive to move projects forward in a fast-paced setting.
  • Real interest in AI and the role it can play in media and entertainment.
