The Startups & Partnerships team scouts emerging technologies for the Head of AI Organization. AI is currently the top strategic priority. The team works across every line of business, meets business stakeholders and clients directly, and evaluates startups and frontier AI labs. It moves quickly and lean while backed by a global institution.

In this role you will build, test, and ship real applications that address business problems across the bank, shaping how the company adopts AI.

You will get direct access to business requirements and hands-on work with the newest models and platforms from leading AI labs, while working at startup speed inside a company operating at global scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy production-grade AI tools, pipelines, and workflows that solve business problems across the company's lines of business.
• Run structured proofs of concept and sandbox comparisons to quickly assess new models, platforms, and startup tools such as LLMs, agentic frameworks, and orchestration layers for real-world fit.
• Turn a business idea into a working demo in days, then iterate based on stakeholder feedback.
• Connect LLMs and agentic systems to enterprise APIs, data pipelines, and lightweight front-end or tooling layers to deliver working end-to-end solutions.
• Work with governance, risk, and platform teams to move validated solutions from prototype toward scaled deployment.
• Translate technical work into clear narratives for senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

• Work as a full-stack engineer with applied AI and LLM experience. This is a builder role, not a data science or ML research position.
• Show a proven record of shipping AI applications, pipelines, and workflows into live production environments, not only notebooks and academic work.
• Be hands-on with large language models, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks and orchestration tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or similar.
• Have strong software engineering fundamentals across backend services, API integrations, and lightweight front-end or internal tooling.
• Communicate well and manage stakeholders, including business leaders and clients, not only other engineers.
• Pick up and adopt new tools and platforms quickly as the AI landscape changes.
• Be comfortable working in a large, regulated, global institution while keeping a startup-speed approach.
• Nice to have: experience working with startups, venture teams, or technology scouting functions.
• Nice to have: familiarity with vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or knowledge graph-based retrieval.
• Nice to have: experience with containerization and cloud-native deployment (Docker, Kubernetes) for AI services.
• Nice to have: prior exposure to financial services, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
• Nice to have: experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical senior business audiences.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience. A master's degree is preferred.

Conditions

Full-time position based in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States.

Salary range is $142,320.00 to $213,480.00.

Eligible employees may also receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
