Description

You will be the lead architect for AI-based solutions that serve the Finance function, building systems on AWS that are secure, scalable and easy to maintain.

Your work turns finance goals into architectures that make planning, reporting, forecasting and daily operations faster, more accurate and more efficient.

The role draws on generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning, data architecture, cloud and software engineering to tackle major business problems.

You will look at new technologies and adopt them only where they clearly add measurable value, and you will make sure designs fit enterprise architecture, financial controls, data governance, security and responsible-AI standards.

You will lead decisions across Finance and IT, guiding architects and delivery teams from first discovery through production and later improvement.

The company develops medicines in immunology, oncology and neuroscience, and offers products in its Allergan Aesthetics portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end architectures for generative and agentic AI, machine learning, analytics, data and software that serve Finance, including links to enterprise platforms and existing finance systems.
  • Work with Finance stakeholders to find high-value use cases such as forecasting, planning, reporting, reconciliation, close support, and document or transaction analysis. Define scope, success measures and how each will be built.
  • Choose and apply suitable AWS services and patterns for ingestion, storage, processing, analytics, AI/ML, application development and deployment, with attention to scale, resilience, performance, cost and support.
  • Set up data and AI governance so solutions run on trusted financial data, with clear lineage, quality checks, access control, retention and audit trails. Add human review and escalation where the use case needs it.
  • Guide evaluation, validation, monitoring, explainability, versioning and change control for models and generative AI, following enterprise standards and risk controls. Identify risks such as inaccurate output, bias, privacy exposure and model drift.
  • Build security, privacy, segregation of duties and financial reporting and internal-control requirements into designs. Work with Finance, Security, Risk, Compliance and other control partners to meet requirements and support audits.
  • Compare build, reuse and buy options and recommend the best fit based on business value, technical fit, risk and total cost of ownership. Contribute prototypes or code when needed to test architecture and solve hard technical problems.
  • Advise Finance and IT leaders, product owners, engineers, data teams and operations partners. Explain architecture choices, dependencies, risks and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Define production-readiness expectations covering testing, deployment, monitoring, incident response, documentation and ongoing cost and performance tuning. Use user feedback and operational lessons to improve solutions.
  • Work with little direction, mentor architects and delivery team members, and promote adherence to enterprise architecture, software development, cloud, data, security, conduct and other corporate policies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, a master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 2 years of experience.
  • Years of experience in application development and in solution architecture for AI applications.
  • Deep knowledge of the systems development life cycle and of designing and delivering production-grade cloud, data and analytics solutions for generative and agentic AI and ML applications.
  • Proven experience designing or building solutions on AWS, including services and patterns for data management, security, integration, deployment, monitoring and cost optimization.
  • Solid understanding of what generative and agentic AI can and cannot do, and of lifecycle practices such as evaluation, validation, monitoring and responsible use.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, access control, auditability and financial controls, and the skill to build these requirements into designs.
  • A record of delivering creative technology that improves business outcomes, including comparing options and weighing value, risk, feasibility and total cost of ownership.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical ideas, risks and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
