2027 Business Technology Solutions Intern - Cybersecurity (Undergraduate)

Description

The company is a large pharmaceutical business, and this internship sits within its Business Technology Solutions group.

You will work in one of four focus areas: cybersecurity, Security Operations Center (SOC), Identity Access Management (IAM), or application security.

The internship lasts 11 weeks and is onsite.

Most interns in this program are placed in Lake County, IL, but placement can be at any U.S. location of the company or Allergan Aesthetics. Preferences are considered, but final placement depends on business need.

Responsibilities

• Watch security alerts and incidents, help with vulnerability scans and fixes, support security awareness work, and write up and report security problems.
• Do first-level triage of security events and alarms, pass likely threats to senior analysts, keep logs and incident records, and help analyze and resolve threats.
• Handle access requests and account setup, take part in access reviews and audits, keep account and permission records, and help with password management and login troubleshooting.
• Help with secure code review and testing, and assist with application vulnerability assessments.

Requirements

• You are working toward a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI, or a related major, with a minor or concentration in Cybersecurity. Relevant extracurricular or work experience may be considered instead of the Cybersecurity minor.
• Your graduation date falls between December 2027 and June 2028.
• You must be enrolled at university the semester after the internship and graduate within one year after it ends.
• Preferred: Python scripting and automation tools (SOAR, Ansible), networking basics (TCP/IP, ports, firewalls), and Windows or Linux basics.
• Preferred: Ability to read and assess code in JavaScript, Java, or C, and to write secure code, with openness to learning secure API design.
• Preferred: Basic understanding of cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP, plus cloud-native security tools.
• Preferred: Previous internship or related experience.
• Preferred: Business and technical awareness, strong analytical skills, and creative problem-solving.
• Preferred: A record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.
• Preferred: Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Preferred: Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
