Description

The company's Cross-Functional Technology team combines people, process, data and technology to build AI-enabled platforms and the technology foundation behind the firm's long-term growth plan.

The team aims to make the enterprise AI-first, with simpler decision-making and greater operational leverage.

The role is titled Data Product Owner, Vice President, within this team.

Responsibilities

  • You will own a set of data products that serve the company's corporate functions, taking each one from early discovery and definition through delivery, adoption and ongoing change.
  • You will combine hands-on product ownership with deep enterprise data knowledge, turning complex business needs into reusable, governed data products.
  • You will shape domain data models, semantic constructs and enterprise definitions, and drive delivery across business and technology teams.
  • You may lead a small group of analysts and contributors while staying involved in product definition, analysis and delivery.
  • Across every role, apply sound judgement and critical thinking to hard problems, adapt as the business changes, and pair curiosity about new approaches with rigorous challenge of results.
  • Own assigned domain data products from discovery through roadmap, requirements, delivery, adoption, measurement and lifecycle management.
  • Run Agile planning and delivery for your products, making decisions on dependencies, priorities and execution until work is complete.
  • Lead discovery and requirements analysis, weighing business value, cost, dependencies and competing priorities to recommend sequencing and trade-offs.
  • Work with business stakeholders to set product outcomes, data definitions, service expectations and success measures.
  • Design and evolve domain data models, covering core business concepts, relationships, reference and master data, and reusable data structures.
  • Work closely with data engineering, platform, business intelligence, reporting and architecture teams on pipelines, transformations, access patterns, entitlements, analytical use and distribution.
  • Give product direction and day-to-day leadership to small analyst teams.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in enterprise data, data products, product management, data architecture and modeling, data governance or stewardship, or related fields.
  • A record of owning or leading data products across the full lifecycle, including discovery, roadmaps, backlogs, prioritization, planning, delivery, adoption and metrics.
  • A strong grasp of enterprise data concepts and modeling, including definitions, quality, lineage, metadata, ownership, governance, semantic and domain modeling, master and reference data, normalized and dimensional models, and modeling standards.
  • Hands-on data modeling experience and the ability to work well with business stakeholders, architects and engineers.
  • The ability to work independently and drive outcomes in a complex, matrixed enterprise, ideally with experience in corporate data domains such as finance, treasury, tax, human resources (HR), client and revenue, legal and compliance, regulatory reporting, procurement, or enterprise master and reference data.
  • Experience with enterprise business applications such as Oracle Financials, SAP, IBM Planning Analytics, Salesforce, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics or Coupa, plus familiarity with cloud data platforms, BI and analytics platforms, metadata and catalog tools, and data-quality tooling.
  • Experience in asset management, financial services or a similar industry.
