Value Engineer - San Francisco

Description

The value engineering team helps customers turn advanced AI into measurable business results, guiding them from first activation to impact across the whole organization. The team works with sales, product, solutions architecture and security to roll out AI safely, and builds a repeatable playbook for enterprise launches and expansions.

You will help articulate and quantify the business value of AI across enterprise, education and government customers, translating adoption into financial and operational impact for both customers and internal teams.

This is an early role on the value engineering team, where you will help define how the company measures and explains AI's real-world effect on customers. You will work with sales, AI success engineers, AI deployment engineering and product to find high-impact use cases and build financial and operational business cases that shape executive decisions, budgets, renewals and expansion.

You will help build the function from the ground up, creating reusable frameworks, ROI models, value narratives, dashboards and collateral.

Success means customers and internal teams can clearly quantify AI's value, business cases drive adoption and expansion, and value frameworks scale across the go-to-market organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead business value assessments for the largest deals, identifying key business drivers with customers and quantifying what the products are worth to support investment decisions.
• Build and maintain standard ROI, TCO and value models for internal and customer use.
• Run structured value discovery to surface high-impact use cases and set measurable outcomes.
• Write executive-ready business cases with quantified results that build trust with C-level stakeholders.
• Turn value frameworks, methods and reusable assets into material that scales value-based selling across the global go-to-market organization.
• Set baselines, KPIs and dashboards to track and report delivered value.
• Work with account directors and post-sale teams on deal strategy, renewals and expansion.
• Identify emerging patterns in how organizations capture value from AI and contribute to thought leadership on AI-driven business change.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in value engineering, management consulting or a closely related role.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, with a record of quantifying and presenting value to executives.
• Excellent executive presence and strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Experience with large-scale AI, cloud or digital transformation initiatives.
• Clear, confident communication with both technical and business audiences.
• Ability to turn AI capabilities into financial, productivity and workforce transformation stories.
• Comfort managing several complex customers at once and pushing toward concrete, measurable results.
• Humility, curiosity and a customer-first approach.
• High ownership and urgency, and comfort working through ambiguity.
• A hands-on builder who likes starting from zero and balances strategy with rolling up your sleeves.
