Description

The company builds commercial infrastructure in low Earth orbit, from in-orbit pharmaceutical processing to affordable, reliable reentry capsules.

It designs, builds, and operates its W-Series vehicles in-house, including the pharmaceutical processing payloads, capsules, C-PICA heat shields, and satellite buses.

The goal is to make products that can only be manufactured in space and to give people on Earth access to them, such as life-saving drugs and high-performance fiber optics.

The founding team was established in January 2021. Leadership and staff have worked at major rocket and spacecraft companies, large pharmaceutical firms, and Silicon Valley technology companies.

The headquarters in El Segundo, California houses offices and a production facility where vehicles, equipment, and materials are built, integrated, and tested. There are also offices in Washington, DC and Huntsville, Alabama.

This role helps grow the university recruiting and internship program. The recruiter takes on about 50% of the university requisition load, and a University Relations Manager handles the rest along with university strategy, partnerships, workforce planning, and program leadership.

The role suits an experienced university recruiter who can spot and assess early-career engineering talent, build lasting ties with students and universities, and get students interested in the company, both at the recruiting desk and on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage about 50% of the university requisitions from application through offer, running each search independently.
  • Find early-career candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, university networks, referrals, student organizations, engineering competitions, and direct outreach.
  • Screen resumes, run recruiter screens, assess candidates, coordinate interview loops and debriefs, and close offers.
  • Work directly with hiring managers and engineering leaders to learn hiring needs, define candidate profiles, build pipelines, and make timely hiring decisions.
  • Keep candidate pipelines and recruiting activity current in Greenhouse, and follow up consistently with candidates.
  • Represent the company at career fairs, information sessions, networking events, student organization meetings, technical events, and campus visits.
  • Build genuine relationships with students and generate interest in the company's mission, roles, and engineering work.
  • Carry out the university strategy with the University Relations Manager across target schools and strategic partnerships.
  • Build relationships with career centers, faculty, student organizations, engineering clubs, research programs, and other campus contacts.
  • Identify new universities, organizations, programs, and sourcing channels that can strengthen the early-career pipeline.
  • Work with the University Recruiting Intern on interview scheduling, candidate coordination, campus logistics, recruiting operations, and running the internship program.
  • Use recruiting metrics and pipeline data to improve recruiting results and the candidate experience.

Requirements

  • Basic: Previous university recruiting experience, including recruiting and engaging college students directly.
  • Basic: 2, 5 years of recruiting experience with proven full-cycle ownership.
  • Basic: Experience managing several requisitions and candidate pipelines at the same time, independently.
  • Basic: Hands-on experience with Greenhouse or a similar applicant tracking system.
  • Basic: Experience sourcing, reaching out to candidates, and building pipelines with LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Basic: Experience working directly with universities, career centers, student organizations, faculty, or other campus contacts.
  • Basic: Experience representing an employer at career fairs, information sessions, networking events, or other campus recruiting activities.
  • Basic: Strong skills in assessing candidates and interviewing.
  • Basic: Experience working directly with hiring managers and technical stakeholders.
  • Basic: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic: Ability to travel about 30, 40% during peak university recruiting seasons, including occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Preferred: Experience recruiting in aerospace, space, defense, or another highly technical engineering field.
  • Preferred: Experience recruiting across several engineering disciplines.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting a high-volume university recruiting or internship program.
  • Preferred: Experience with Handshake or similar university recruiting platforms.
  • Preferred: Established relationships with engineering universities, career centers, or student organizations.
  • Preferred: Experience with university employer branding and campus engagement.
  • Preferred: Experience using recruiting metrics and funnel data to improve strategy and performance.
  • You are an experienced university recruiter who enjoys being on campus and engaging with students.
  • You have an outgoing, engaging personality and connect easily with people, whether you are speaking to a room of engineering students, staffing a career fair booth, meeting a student organization, or talking one-on-one with a candidate.
  • You know how to recruit: sourcing on LinkedIn, managing pipelines in Greenhouse, running recruiter screens, assessing technical talent, working with hiring managers, and taking candidates from application to close on your own.
  • You understand that university recruiting is about more than filling requisitions. You build lasting university relationships, find top students early, and turn campus engagement into long-term talent pipelines.
  • Above all, you leave a presence that keeps students thinking about the company after you leave campus.
