Undergrad Software Engineering Intern (Grad Year: Spring 2028)

Description

The company launched in 2011 and runs a global community that creates live, multiplayer entertainment, from casual gaming and esports to anime, music, and art streams. It also hosts TwitchCon.

This is a cohort-based internship at a company operating at very large scale. Interns work on hard engineering problems, using techniques that only the biggest websites tend to try.

Each intern gets a manager, a mentor, and an Early Careers Advisor who help steer a project from start to finish.

Interns also join a leadership and interpersonal development curriculum and hear from company leaders in fireside chats.

Responsibilities

• Build practical solutions that take a project from the idea stage to production.
• Take part in discussions about product design and how features get implemented.
• Test and refine code both before and after it goes into production.
• Work with fellow interns, new teammates, and staff from across the company.

Requirements

• Be an undergraduate in a BA or BS program with a Spring or Summer 2028 graduation date. Masters and PhD candidates do not qualify.
• Be willing to dig into difficult problems and propose sound fixes reliably and quickly.
• Be keen to learn a new programming language and become productive in it within a week.
• Enjoy collaborating in a team setting.
• Have completed coursework in data structures and algorithms, or have a working understanding of them.
• The company especially wants to hear from computer science students.

Conditions

The internship is open only to undergraduates at North American colleges or universities who graduate in Spring 2028.

The role is based in San Francisco, CA.

Base pay ranges from $42.5/hr in the lowest geographic market to $88.94/hr in the highest. Where you fall depends on your location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
