The company makes equipment, systems, digital solutions and value-added services for the freight and transit rail sectors. This role supports its emissions testing laboratories and locomotive field service work.
You will apply engineering and emissions compliance knowledge to read regulatory requirements, review laboratory and service practices, resolve difficult compliance problems, and strengthen processes and controls. You will work with Engineering, Engine Performance, Laboratory Operations, Field Services, and Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance so that testing, certification, and service work meets rules across several sites and jurisdictions.
The company has been operating for over 150 years and employs about 30,000 people worldwide.
Responsibilities
Assess emissions testing laboratory and locomotive field service work against regulatory rules and internal policies.
Act as the go-to technical expert on emissions questions across engineering, laboratory, testing, certification, and field service.
Read U.S. and international emissions rules, judge how they affect engineering and operations, and pass the relevant requirements on to stakeholders.

Lead or coordinate emissions compliance work across labs and service operations in Erie, Pennsylvania; Grove City, Pennsylvania; and Fort Worth, Texas.
Work with Engine Performance, Engineering Labs, Field Services, and other teams to make sure test processes and technical records meet legal and internal standards.

Identify emissions obligations for product development, regulatory testing, and certification programs and build them into engineering work.
Support compliance investigations, corrective actions, regulator inquiries, and improvement projects, including root cause analysis and fixes.
Write and refine procedures, tools, guidance, and training materials so emissions requirements are applied consistently, and share know-how across the organization.
Track upcoming emissions rules and work with stakeholders on changes that affect testing, certification, service, or operations.
You may be asked to take on duties outside your function or trade; training will be provided where needed.
