UK Snr Software Engineer

Description

You will work in an Agile team as a senior software engineer, on a portfolio of business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and delivery of features across the application portfolio, from initial concept through to deployment and ongoing support.
• Give technical leadership on EPIC features, making sure solutions are secure, scalable and meet agreed standards.
• Work with technical governance so the team meets agreed architecture standards, and take part in conceptualising and designing solutions with business area architects.
• Write, test and document high-quality code, with a strong focus on test automation and continuous integration.
• Collaborate with architects, Business Analysts, UX designers, Test Engineers and Technical Support Engineers.
• Research third-party and cloud solutions and assess whether to buy rather than build, checking they integrate successfully.
• Mentor Software Engineers and Associate Software Engineers, and take part in code reviews, sizing and sprint retrospectives.
• Bring new ideas to the team through proofs of concept, prototyping and evaluation of tools and technologies.
• Act as a deep subject matter expert in the applications and technology you work on.

Requirements

• Proven full-stack development experience, with hands-on work in Azure,.NET, React and AI (essential).
• A proven delivery track record in a Scrum or Agile environment, with strong software development experience.
• Solid experience of test-driven development, unit testing, test automation tools and continuous integration.
• A logical, analytical and creative approach to problem solving, with careful attention to detail.
• Clear communication, and the confidence to lead technical discussions with colleagues and stakeholders.
• A self-motivated, results-focused approach, and the ability to motivate others.
• A genuine drive to build solutions that customers will value.
