Description

Company Description

We are Olsson. We engineer and design solutions that improve the world around us. As a company, we promise to always be responsive, transparent, and focused on results – for our people, our clients, and our company.

We’re a people-centric firm, so it’s no surprise our greatest asset is our people. The impact this creates is an environment that encourages our people to grow and be creative with their talents. This approach builds a culture that is uniquely Olsson. It allows us to grow our people as we grow our business. This, in turn, creates a lasting impact on the world around us.

Olsson’s Traffic & Technology team offers comprehensive traffic services, including traffic operation studies, pedestrian circulation studies, and intersection improvement/design projects. We specialize in traffic signal design and timing, pavement marking design, street lighting analysis, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Our expertise also extends to complex projects like citywide safety studies and signal system improvements. Through our work, we enhance transportation infrastructure and positively impact the communities we serve.

As a Traffic Engineer, you will perform street lighting design, corridor and traffic impact analysis, and ITS work while contributing to the delivery of a wide variety of transportation projects. We are seeking professionals with approximately 3 to 8 years of relevant experience and will tailor the responsibilities and level of ownership based on the selected candidate’s background and expertise.

You will design signals, pavement markings, signing, temporary traffic control, and other permanent traffic control for vehicular and multimodal users. Additionally, you will evaluate the safety and operational performance of transportation systems, analyze traffic data, and develop recommendations that enhance mobility and roadway safety.

In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams while taking on increasing ownership of project tasks, technical analyses, and design decisions. You will apply sound engineering judgment and continue developing your expertise in traffic operations, safety, transportation technology, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being based in either our Lincoln, NE, or Omaha, NE office.
