Description

About Mind:

Mind Robotics is building Physical AI for real-world industrial deployment, starting with the factory floor. We believe the hardest problems in AI are solved when researchers and engineers are hands-on with the physical world every day - and we're looking for people who are passionate about robotics, value ownership, and are excited to tackle difficult problems.

About the role:

Mind Robotics is hiring a Tools and PLM Engineer to own the CAD and engineering tools our hardware teams design with. Our core platform is Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE, and you will be its resident expert while keeping our wider toolchain running and up to date. You will build the processes that carry engineering data to manufacturing, supply chain and the rest of the company, and keep us ahead of new technology.

Responsibilities

  • Be the expert on all of our CAD tools, such as 3DEXPERIENCE, and the go-to person for engineers on any CAD issue, from modeling and assembly problems to data, performance and licensing.
  • Own Mind’s engineering systems domain end to end: 3DEXPERIENCE plus the CAD, ECAD, simulation and CAM toolchain, including platform administration, configuration, upgrades, licenses and vendors.
  • Own the flow of engineering data from design to build. Design the processes and integrations that carry released parts, BOMs, drawings and changes to manufacturing, supply chain and quality from one source of truth, with no manual re-entry. Manufacturing, supply chain and quality plan builds, orders and inspections on this data, so when it is late or wrong, their plans move.
  • Define how Mind manages engineering data: part numbering, release, change management and BOM structure, including the EBOM-to-MBOM handoff.
  • Decide which engineering-systems problems are worth solving and in what order. Set the roadmap, make the tradeoffs across teams, and explain what we are choosing not to address.
  • Evaluate new tools and new functionality from Dassault Systèmes and other vendors. Decide what we adopt, change or retire, and lead the rollout across teams.
  • Set the CAD, data and release standards that engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality work to, and build the training that makes them stick.
  • Remove repetitive CAD and PLM work with scripts, templates, tools and API integrations, and turn recurring support issues into lasting fixes.

Requirements

  • A track record of owning PLM and engineering tools for a hardware company, where other teams depended on the data and processes you ran.
  • Advanced, hands-on expertise across CAD tools such as 3DEXPERIENCE, not just administration and configuration, and a track record as the go-to CAD expert for an engineering team.
  • Deep knowledge of release, change and BOM management in CAD tools such as 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Experience designing how engineering data reaches manufacturing and supply chain, such as EBOM-to-MBOM handoff and ERP item and BOM transfer.
  • Scripting in EKL, VBA, Python, C or similar, and experience building on APIs.
  • The judgment to choose which problems to solve and which tools to adopt, and to separate real value from hype.
  • Clear communication with engineers and with leads in manufacturing, supply chain and quality, and patience as a trainer.
