Description

The team verifies the end-to-end data plane and control plane that connect millions of intelligent vehicles to cloud platforms, ensuring vehicle data from embedded controllers reaches cloud data platforms, mobile apps and monitoring services without loss, and tests configuration rollouts and fleet campaigns.

This Test Engineering role strengthens the system verification and quality assurance group, with a focus on the integrity, scalability and performance of pipelines from embedded components to cloud analytics.

This is an existing vacancy that is open to new applications.

Artificial Intelligence will be used as part of the hiring process for this role.

Responsibilities

• Design, automate and run test plans covering data plane and control plane interfaces from the vehicle edge through cloud layers and beyond.
• Set up, maintain and run tests on benches, virtual SIL environments and instrumented vehicles, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
• Test integration, latency and throughput across edge and cloud boundaries, locate bottlenecks and propose optimizations.
• Verify serialization, pipeline throughput, deduplication and database persistence across ingestion feeds and analytical storage.
• Use dashboards, metrics and distributed tracing to catch anomalies early, run root-cause analysis and track defects through fixes across hardware and software teams.
• Work with embedded developers, cloud platform teams and system architects on integration and design for testability.
• Build and maintain automated regression suites in CI/CD pipelines that act as quality gates for every software and firmware release.
• Document test benches, test frameworks, results and performance baselines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in software or systems testing, including work with embedded systems, connected devices or IoT ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience with HIL testing, including test setup, wire harness troubleshooting, signal and bus simulation, test execution and results analysis.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation, building test harnesses and processing data.
• Ability to read, inspect and debug compiled code in C/C++, Rust or Java.
• Working knowledge of SQL to query relational and analytical databases and confirm data persistence and message integrity.
• Experience with Linux, QNX or Android.
• Solid grasp of Agile methods, Git and automated test integration in CI/CD.
• Preferred: Experience with software observability, covering monitoring, logging, metrics, dashboards and alerting.
• Preferred: Hands-on work with observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
• Preferred: Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Apache Spark or Apache Kafka.
• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Preferred: Knowledge of cellular 4G/5G and LTE-V2X networks, IoT messaging protocols (MQTT, Protobuf, WebSockets) and transport security (TLS/mTLS).
• Preferred: Familiarity with automotive networking protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP, UDS) and analysis tools (Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, Wireshark).
• Preferred: Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed cloud systems.

Conditions

The base salary range is $90,900 to $136,400. The offer within that range depends on factors relevant to the position.

The role is hybrid, with office attendance at least three days per week.
